In Short – With an upscale-casual atmosphere and a stylish lounge area, Burtons makes for a pleasant pre-or post game spot for a drink or a meal. The classic American menu focuses on high-quality meats and fresh seafood at affordable prices. An all-day sandwich menu features a reuben, burger, and steak sandwich, while the heartier entrée menu features filet mignon, ribeye, haddock, or the "Land and Sea"--a 10 oz. aged Angus New York strip with shrimp, scallops or crab cake. Fresh soups, salads, and side-dishes complement the meals.

Burtons is the best for Sox Game nights!

by Image101 at Citysearch

This is the best. I am a red sox fan, and after going to the home games and finding out that Burtons offers a buy one get one deal on Sox nights, makes my night even better. Everywhere I go to eat at the games, i end up spending so much money. So when my girlfriends and I heard about the deal, we were in there immediately! Saved us so much money! Plus the cocktails are amazing. Good Location and Great Service!

  • Pros: Buy One Get One!

Relax good friends and good food.

by chickiebaby at Citysearch

BostonBCP -- I'm a bit perplexed by your review. You went to a non-casual restaurant at 5:40pm before a 7:00 Red Sox game and you actually thougth that you'd be in and out in time for the starting pitch? As a former waitress, I can't believe that you actually got mad that your entree (steak) wasn't on your table in 20 minutes. That's an unreasonable expectation.

I went with some friends last night and had a great time. The waitress was attentive but knew that we were having a great time laughing and talking so she mostly let us be.

I had the Risotto Fritters to start. They were great but I could have done without the tomato sauce. I felt that it took away from the creaminess of the risotto and added an acidity that conlicted with the savoriness of the fritters.

Then I had the mushroom ravioli. They were so delicious that if I were at home, I would have licked my plate clean. The portion size was perfect and the creamy sauce complimented the ravioli very well.

All in all, a good experience. It's a bit pricey for a "grill" ($40 per person and none of us had alcohol) but the food and atmosphere was great.

  • Pros: risotto fritters, great atmosphere and decor
  • Cons: It's a bit of a pain to drive in that part of town. Take the T.

Best brunch ever!

by lovefoodverymuch2008 at Citysearch

It took me a while to check out Burtons Grill after I moved into Fenway. It just looked very nice and stylish so I assumed it's really expensive. Today, I finally checked it out and I was amazed. The brunch food is excellent. I had the best toast, the best sausage and the best home fries ever. And the price is extremely resonable for what I got. The decor is beautiful. I will recommend it to everyone.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

by BostonBCP at Citysearch

My wife and I had a very bad experience yesterday, June 26th at the Boston location. We were seated timely - order was taken on time - quite some time before our water was brought to us and bread was served a few minutes before our starter. Considering that we sat at 5:40 and were going to a 7:00 PM Red Sox game, it never entered our minds that we would be rushed to finish our food.

I had to ask the waitress after we ordered 20 minutes earlier to check with the kitchen for my steak and my wife's pasta dish. I then had to speak to someone who identified herself as a manager who told me that it was only 21 minutes since my order was placed but she would check on it. As I told her the service was unacceptable she gave me a time out signal with her hands trying to justify the poor service.

She came back with the orders with extremely hot food and plates - MICROWAVED.

Food just fair. We had to rush to finish to make the 7:00 game.

One of the owners came by to apologize - "we fell on our sword" - he told us as we told him we use to eat at their Derby Street location - Notice the word USE TO. I never asked for anything because of the poor service, fair food, had to rush and we couldn't finish our meals on time. The owner didn't even have enough common sense - you have to have that before "Business Sense" to offer us a drink or dessert.

If the food was for the nothing, it still wouldn't be worth it.

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: terrible service - microwaved after it took 22 minutes to serve our food
