Service with a scowl. Well... this past weekend I decided to give Fizz a whirl and start my birthday celebration there... bad idea! Firstly, my group was about 15 and the manager wouldn't reserve us a table. Second, I brought a birthday cake and my own candles... they charged me $25 to cut it... and instead of bringing it out with the candles on it so people could sing, they cut it, put candles on EVERY piece, and didn't bring enough forks. Then when they gave me the rest of the cake to take home it was chopped up into clumps! Our waitress had a serious attitude problem, and we had to chase her down to get drinks and stalk her to get our bill... thankfully we only stayed there for an hour and a half... I still enjoyed my birthday but I will NOT go back to Fizz! They need to get their act together!!

What a shame...... Fizz is a great ideain theory. My husband and I had been looking forward to celebrating our anniversary here over glasses of Champagne, and despite calling a few times to confirm that yes, in fact, they'd be open, we arrived to find it closed.

My guess is that they don't want to open the place up, pour the bubby for a small crowd, and get stuck with a few open bottles. But HELLO! The fact that they offer it by the glass is the whole point of going here! If they have a problem with it, they should have come up with a different bar concept.

While this may be a great place for an impromptu gathering, DON'T plan to come here for a special celebration, nor plan an event here. They just don't have their act together, and it could end up ruining your night. Even calling ahead, just to be sure, won't help. So disappointing.

Also: late night revelers, this ain't your place. They close the joint at a ridiculously early hour, like 10:30.

Editorial Review. The Westin Copley Place's lobby lounge, a champagne and wine bar, serves light fare.
