“But the fries are not that good.”
Best hot dogs in the city. Best hot dogs in the city, and I know my hot dogs. These all beef beauties come in delicious, freshly toasted rolls. The condiment and topping selection is absolutely excellent, though I'm a purist - house (spicy, whole grain) mustard and sauerkraut. The onion rings and poodle fries are delicious, and, well, what more could one really ask for? The only downside I've found so far is that the wings are a bit on the tough side, but that may have just been an off day.
The wings are not the best. Come prepared to clean your own table off. On the plus side the rest room is very clean and they have a sink in the dinning area so that you are able to wash your hands before you eat. But the fries are not that good. the wings looked and tasted like they were fried in old oil.
Local hot dog chain provides a quick, affordable spot for lunch or a late-night snack..
In Short
With its junkyard-inspired decor and canine-themed menu, this no frills joint may seem a bit over the top. But diners adjust for the fresh jumbo hot dogs, available in more than twenty varieties, including the Reuben Dog (Russian dressing, sauerkraut and swiss), the Samurai (teriyaki sauce and sautéed onions) and the Mexicali (salsa, pepperoncini and cheddar). Non-beef eaters can use the same menu to top fat-free veggie dogs.
