With a bit more seating than its Charles St. counterpart, the Newbury St. Upper Crust lends itself to weary shoppers needing to take a break over a slice. Patrons familiar with the original Beacon Hill location will enjoy the same speedy counter service at this offshoot, but will notice a slightly expanded menu and individual tables in contrast to the original's communal eating spaces. Creative diners mix and match from an endless variety of gourmet toppings (arugula, baby clams, Canadian bacon), and the menu suggests several tantalizing combinations. The flavorful "white spinach" (spinach,…

Great pizza, local landmark

Great local pizza for the higher end pizza lover. Not a whole lot of room to eat, but perfect taking a slice down to Boston Common during the spring/summer.

Closest NYC style Pizza in Boston

by ponceking at Citysearch

Quite objectively, the tastiest pizza in boston. A thin crust, creative gourmet toppings, reminds me of my home town NYC. Many places in Boston call themselves, NY style pizza... this place doesn't even do that, they just brag about their taste and live up to it. Totally respect your wicked taste! Love to see the pizza being made, breathe in all that flour being spread around... a fun place to visit as well with your kids, family, or first date.

  • Pros: great crust and toppings
  • Cons: good pizza takes TIME!

Classier Pizza than the rest

by hotelman21 at Citysearch

Pizza is excellent for the price you pay, granted Newbury Street can charge more, but this place is a good deal. Highly Recommend the State House pizza, loaded with sliced pepperonni, sausage, and hamburg. Freshest tomato sauce around! One bite and you will feel like you are part of the "upper crust" of society.

  • Pros: locations all around Boston
  • Cons: limited seating

Man Oh Manischevitz!!!

This place never ceases to amaze me!

Last time I was in I wasn't sure what to get so i asked the girl working the counter and she reccomended i get a small pizza with chourizo and onion. Well i did, and i had a great bottle of wine too, It was a Malbec. The chourizo had just enough spice to stand up to the wine and the onion sweetened my palate perfectly.

The cooks are so friendly there too, I had dropped my keys on the floor on the way out and one of the cooks ran after me to give them back. Altogether great experience once again.

  • Pros: everything
  • Cons: nothing
