Cozy, neighborhood feel. The atmosphere is homey and unpretentious. The hostess, who we think is the owner, was very welcoming. The dining room is simple and it is not too loud to carry on a conversation. The food was very good on each of the three occasions that we have dined here, and the desserts are yummy. The waitstaff is attentive, but not overbearing. It is a nice place to meet friends and enjoy very good food, without going in to Boston or Providence.
Excellent Service, Good Atmosphere & Very Good Food.
Chira's atmosphere is soothing with just the right level of lighting and background noise. The decor was warm and welcoming on a cold winter's evening - and the fireplace is a nice touch.
The service was nearly perfect - from the hostess to our watress and the support staff. Friendly, prompt, couteous, attentive, and error free.
The French Onion Soup, while a bit sweeter than I normally prefer, had fantastic flavor and was top notch. The skirt stake was very flavorful and was cooked exactly the way I had requested. The Sea Salt and Horseradish Fires did not "dumb down" the meal at all.
While not inexpensive, Chiara delivers the value I expect for the price. We will return.
Wonderful dinner!. I'm not sure I went to the same Chiara the other reviews describe. I know I have the right restaurant though. Chiara does have a bar and a considerable wine list. The wine list is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. The wine is expensive - most are $10/glass. But the food was delicious. I had the duck and my husband had the lamb. The marscapone polenta could be a dessert it's so rich. The waitstaff was very attentive without being bothersome. It was a Tuesday night, so I can't say what the weekend is like. We would definitely go back. It was a great special occasion restaurant for us because it is on the pricey side.
Don't wait for your table there. We had been to Chiara once before and weren't totally impressed but since it's in the neighborhood figured we'd give it another shot. We made a same day reservation for two. We were met by a hostess with less than a glowing personality. There's no bar just a waiting area in front. Atmosphere is nice although we were seated at a small table in the middle of the main runway. Nice but limited winelist. Decent drinks. My steak was dry. My wifes scallops were excellent. Portions are small to average. Waitstaff was excellent and friendly. Desserts are good.
brunch. I had an omelette which was flat. There was no fluffiness to it at all. I atmosphere is very nice but I go to a restaurant to eat
