I was very excited to go to Violet's after all the rave reviews I'd heard but unfortunately had the worst waxing experience of my life here. The receptionist was rude to start. As I lay on the table getting wax poured on me the woman in the room next to me was screaming in pain. The woman waxing me apologized and promised not to do the same to me but barely kept her promise. I've never had someone pull the strips off so slowly....ouch ouch ouch. I'd have put up with the pain if it had been for precision sake but she waxed me all uneven. Don't believe the hype.
Great Facial on Newbury Street – I had a great experience at Violet on Newbury Street. Great facials with natural products, knowledgeable staff and quiet atmosphere!
Best facial on Newbury Street – The facial I got from Milena is the best I've ever had. She was very thorough and gentle and did an excellent job with the extractions. I felt pampered and beautifully attended to the whole time I was in her chair. My skin felt clean, incredibly soft and smooth afterwards. I was looking for a hydrating cream to put on at night so Milena suggested a couple of creams from the Violet line, but didn't push anything on me. I bought a cream that has been heavenly to use at night. It feels like I'm giving my skin a nourishing treat. I left Violet Skincare feeling like I had a brand new face!! Thanks so much for your excellent facial and professional skincare advice, Milena!
Rosacea treatment – For years I have suffered from rosacea and have tried everything out there! Not until I decided to go for violet rosacea organic flax seed facial I finally found what my skin really needed. Immidiately redness was gone and my skin was calm and soft and very hydrated. I bought their rosacea face cream and chocolate mask and both are very effective for my skin on daily basis. During my facial I also received advice on natural recipies and diet changes that helped me drastically. Violet is a real holistic expert and she is so passionate about what she does, its incredible to see an expert like her that tries to help you in a very basic natural way. Stop waisting your money on expensive chemical products and try the very somple organic approach, it worked for me!
Brookline is the best! – I love the Brookline location, heavenly is the word! what an incredible addition to our neighborhood. Went there for spa week facial and wrap, and was treated like royalty. Spa looks gorgeous - Miami/New york feel to it, europen decor - very relaxing... my facial was the best I have ever had (and I had alot). Very skilled staff - products smell and feel fantastic, can't get enough of all those organic creams I brought home - they REALLY make a huge difference. Violet, you got me hooked.
Horrible service, not organized, messed up appointment twice! – The new brookline location is terrible. They messed up my credit card transaction, were rude, unorganized. They apologized, so I went back for a facial - then they claimed they botched the appointment and had nothing for me! I just left with no appointment, no apology or correction. Goodbye Violet. You are terrible.
natural products and services that will heal your skin!!! – I am a native Brookliner and when I saw Violet open I must say I was curious. I went for a spa week facial for the first time, and I must say I was impressed. One of the very best facials ever, simplicity and technique, essential oils and freshly made masks made my skin glow instantly ? thanks for making my day . If you are looking for a thoroughly purifying holistic facial I recommend them HIGHLY!!! .Violet natural products are amazing! Can?t get enough of them every day. They take a little while to get used to after using harsh products like Proactiv etc but you'll never go back once you've tried them. The products smell amazing and they're so gentle to the skin. The spa looked and felt like a sanctuary, so relaxing and welcoming. Staff very professional and friendly. My facialis was very skillful, relaxing and knowledgable. I will definitely be returning!
I finally found Galyna K! – I had been going to Galyna at Violet for a while now and I was a really happy customer untill I found out that Galyna's gone.. I have been trying to find her very hard these couple of months, (even calling up other spas around on Newbury) but didn't have any luck untill only few days ago, when I was searching her (again!) on google! THere she was, finally! She opened up her own place now in Belmont called "Lavender Spa", and I went to her yesterday and I'm very happy again! The reason I'm writing about this here because I know how hard it is to find an esthetician that you like and that works for you and I know that Galyna had many others like me who were probably going through the same thing trying to find her! SO, if you need to find Galyna, go to Lavender Spa!
The Best Results! – I am not a type of person to write review. But after reading some of the negative reviews I was compelled to write. I have been going to this place for over two year for both waxing and facials. It is by far the highest quality, most professional skin care service I have ever had. The facials here are superb. I would say that they are the best I have ever had, and I've tried several high-end places in several different cities. For years, I had been suffering with acne. In addition, I have sensitive skin too. So I am very limited to what I can use. Their organic facials are the only ones that agree with my skin. After I started their deep pore cleaning facials my skin has never looked healthier.
Finally, I adore the products and the whole environment is so inviting and relaxing and staff is very welcoming and friendly, I can't wait to go back
Shocking – Went to Violet while on a "me" vacation in Boston...it was awful.
Walking in, the place wreaked of CAT. It was completely overpowering. I am higly allergic so I asked the receptionist if they had a company pet and she looked at me like I had 3 heads.
I started off with a massage which was nice, but while I specified to work on my very sore back, my arms and calves were rubbed for the better part of the hour. On to the facial, still smelling like a cats litter box, almost no extractions were done and then only one cream was put on my face for 10 minutes. She proceeded to rub my face (massage?) and neck even though I had just had a 60 minute massage. I've had several facials in my native NY and a lot more goes into it thn one layer of gooo.
It wasn't a terrible experience, but it was a total waste of money. Not sure what everyone else on this board is raving about.
