“Bar service is a little slow.”
Excellent!. Just get the fries, meatballs and chocolate dessert! We had a wonderful meal, albeit pricey, but these choices were delicious!
A must-try. I went to Sorellina for dinner last night and would highly recommend this restaurant. Our waitstaff was excellent; very professional, punctual, and pleasant. All of the people at our table were pleased with their choices. I had the halibot as my main course and found it perfectly seasoned and presented. The buffalo carpaccio and the arancini (Maine crab) were both quite delicious. For dessert, the warm chocolate budino was to die for. All in all a most pleasant experience. I would go back.
Wow!, who knew it could be this good.. As a mistral regular, I have been in and out of the trendy bar scene here. Yet, finally ate dinner in the dimly lit dining-room. Our server very attentive, professional-a little to over the top with knowledge to the point of like i really dont care about EVERY ingrediant. The food was fabulous, not to heavy, but remained VERY flavorful....Kobe meatballs are to die for, Lamb was amazing, great portion size...dessert, well the panna cotta truly sublime. The wine list, prepare to shell out big $$$ for mediocre wines.
Great food, terrible service -- not worth it. I took some colleagues to Sorrelina, and our service was terrible. We asked our server to give us 5 minutes to choose a wine and after at least 15 minutes we had to grab someone else and ask them to find him. My salad was missing a key ingredient, and when I told the server, he didn't believe me. Then he passed by our table 3 times over the next 10 minutes (pausing to refill our wine glasses) before he brought the ingredient out. It was a little surreal. Generally each course took too long to arrive and then we felt slightly rushed to pay our check. Food was great, but for the price I expected top-notch service, as well. I doubt I would go back -- there are too many other great restaurants in Boston.
good food at Sorrelina.
We had a great experience dining at Sorrelina. The decor is classic and atmosphere is fun, in addition to that the food was amazing. The Kobe beef meatballs and other meat entrees were outstanding, while my friend had a tasteless fish entree which made us certain Sorrelinas specializes are meat and not fish-(would really not recommend the fish).
The wait in the bar was a bit hectic; the bar is is over crowded and small, and there was a wait for a class on wine. Yet, the service at Sorrelina was good, and we had a great experience.
Great food.. less than great service. My boyfriend and I went out for a nice dinner and to try this new restaurant. I thought Sorrelina was beautiful inside and the white flowering trees out front are gorgeous! The food was fantastic, espeically the Kobe meatballs! Our service, on the other hand, not so great. We waited about 15 minutes before we could even order our wine, my boyfriend got the wrong pasta, and then we had to wait 20 minutes after our dessert (fantastic cannoli!) was taken away before the check came (fatal flaw)..I'd probably give it another chance since everyone else seems to think the service is great.. maybe our waitor was having a bad night.
Excellent! Needs that final polish.... It's the talk of the town. Packed on a Monday night. The space is beautiful. The service, tops. The menu has an Italian/Asian starter selection from two Japanese style raw fish options, to tripe and Fonduta with an Italian flare. The crudo (hamachi sashimi 'carpaccio') was underwhelming. The tuna, however, was sublime. The tripe with smoked tomatos was so good it made you forget you're eating tripe. Kobe meatballs with loooong fresh extruded pasta tubes were a welcome mid dinner treat. The Secondi's were where the menu lost some momentum and inventiveness. Roast chicken? Pork & beans? Steak and mash? Salmon? Even the non-PC (but very retro)Veal was on the menu. The Bronzoni however was tasty... In fairness, we didn't get to try many of the entrees. The desserts (esp Cannoli) were devoured. Loved our wait staff. Great place. Looking forward to the refinements that are to come.
Excellent. Sorellina is by far the best restaurant I have been to in a while. From the moment you walk in the doors you feel as though you are the most important person in the room. Ian, the bartender was fantastic, very attentive and his drinks were first rate. The minute we sat at our table our waiter Michael was there to welcome us. He was fabulous! He had great recommendations and was pleasant to talk to. The tuna appetizer was unbelievable and the main course (sirloin) was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend everyone to try this restaurant. It is a tad pricy but well worth the money.
Incredible experience. The service was superb, bartenders more than attentive, food to die for- and the atmosphere very pleasant. It is my favorite place in Boston. It's is very European, but NOT pretentious at all!
A Pleasant Addition To Boston's Restaurant Scene. A group of friends and I had dinner here last night. It was a nice night. The service we received was excellent. The staff were very attentive and always visible for service. The food was to die for. The presentation very elegant and the food quite tasty and delicious. The decor was very stylish and pretty. I definitely recommend dinner here!
