CASTLEBAR. The CASLEBAR is a great place to congregate with friends. It is a local place, in every nice sense of the concept; it is hard to feel out of place there. I have been patronizing the place for about 20 years. The Clougher Family (who run the place) are good people, pay close attention and you will see a John F. Kennedy poster for President (ORINGINAL) on the inside door of the entrance to the basement. Every now and then you will have some great local bands playing on a Friday night, including the Skels (who were the real and original IRISH PUNK Band before the Dropkicks) As a previous poster placed forth, on Thursdays they have TRIVIA NIGHTS, which can be a lot of fun. Either way, any night, you can have a great experience at the Castle. REMMINGTON STEEL RULES!

Close to Home. "I love the Castlebar because it is an excellent place to go to take it easy and have a few drinks. Thursday Night is TRIVIA night and the bar gets packed to hear Mike try to stump the crowd. Definitely check out this place, no one knows about it but it's great! They recently renovated it and it looks amazing. On top of that they are getting 5 big screen TVs total, the only thing it lacks right now is the HD feed, but I'm sure that's something they'll work on. Overall I highly recommend the place - go for the Guinness, it's GREAT!
