I went to La Reine because I had seen the news report a couple of years ago about LA Reine donating dresses to Soldiers that where deployed to Iraq, I saved them for last because I wanted to see everything that was out there. I was amazed, I arrived for my appointment and the place was packed, as soon as I was through the door the owner greeted me confirmed my appointment and asked me to have a seat. The owner Meray sat with me asked me what I wanted and went to get dresses herself. She is tiny and the dresses she carried where twice her size, I felt horrible thinking about my mom that is about her age carrying stuff like that but she laughed and said it was fine. I tried on about 12-20 dresses and after each one she narrowed it down and helped me keep it on track. I was on a pedestal, staring into this Hugh mirror when I saw the image I have been dreaming about my whole life THE PERFECT DRESS. I had tried on so many dresses at so many shops and someone finally listened to me and what I WANTED!!! After measurements and MAKEING me read her contract, I finally ended my search. They told me 6 months and my dress was there right on time. I do not know why La Reine does not do alterations like other shops (I guess they are just so busy) But They brought down my dress to Elana and she did an wonderful job. I just got back from my honeymoon, my at prints from my wedding, I cannot believe it is me in the picture I LOVE my dress and having preserved for my daughter. The only reason I went to La Reine was the news cast, after reading bad reviews I had my reservations..... This is the first review I have written about anything, I was looking up the address for a friend I am recommending the shop to and I saw the reviews and I was thinking.. people who are mad write reviews all the time, but happy people that have no problems are to busy preparing for the wedding. So I wanted to add my 2 cents for a great shop that I hope will be around for my Daughters Prom and wedding,

Pros: Great staff, tons of gowns, straight forward policy, and supports the troops

Cons: Parking.. but way better the Newbury st so I guess no cons

I just bought my wedding dress at from Jeanine at La Reine, and it was a fantatic experience. My mom and I had already been to about 6 different shops, and had yet to find something that we loved at a shop that we trusted. Needless to say, this shop mixed the two. The store itself is a really fun place. It is in an old victorian style house in Waltham and each room has a curtained off area for privacy in changing before "unveiling" each dress to those you are shopping with. They have some incredible amount of dresses (I think aprox. 1,700) and, unlike at other stores where they do not let you look around, we had full reign to search their stock. The saleswoman that we worked with there was incredible. She was very sensitive in hearing my desires, and pointed out dresses that I loved. Her experience as a seamstress / designer also proved to be great, as she was able to show us exactly where dresses would perfectly bustle and give information on the quality of the materials--something the other stores had not been anywhere near as adept with. Not only was she incredibly professional, but also really sweet. I am very happy that I was able to buy a dress from her. I could not recommend this store and Jeanine highly enough. Truthfully, I wish it was the first place we'd gone to, because I'm sure it would have been the only. It seems that they have many dresses in every possible style, and shopping there is really a delightful experience.

Pros: the selection and particularly the service

Cons: none
