Awesome Korean BBQ!. My friend took me here for our small farewell party. There were 6 of us at a big enough table for us. We ordered pancake for appetizer and Diamond-kalbi and (Jabchae) noodle for main dish, which turned out to be super yummy. The pancake looks like a pizza thing and the rib (kalbi) is savory but sweet. The waitress placed sliced raw meat and was very attentive to cook them. She also explained what we were eating for side dish and didn't forget water and lettuce refills. She was friendly and provided decent service. Besides, the atmosphere was even gorgeous; I took picture of us at the entrance at the close of the night. We had great time absolutely and didn't have any complain about the service actually. I will say you should try. :)

not good on a busy night with a big party. We were having a celebration this past weekend at Yasu. We were seated promptly and everything seemed okay until we got our food.

First our waitress brings out the wrong orders. We order pork bulgogi and diamond kalbi (marinated). Instead we got beef bulgogi and she was the one who placed it on the grill to cook. Then another waiter comes by with our actual food and says that the stuff she put on the grill was wrong. We said we wanted the pork bulgogi and asked her to take the beef one away if she was going to charge us for it. But if we're not going to get charged, we're willing to eat the food since she can't re-sell it now that its half cooked any way. She didn't switch the plate of Kalbi and we asked multiple times if it was the right plate and she said yes. After we cooked it, we realized it was plain UNmarinated Kalbi.

We had to ask her for the drink menu, tea refills and rice 5 times each before we got it. Some of us were dying of thirst. She also tried to place the thongs used to pick up the raw meat onto my friends personal plate, which is disgusting. We also had to request constant refills for the small korean dishes. There were 8 of us and they only gave us one small soy sauce plate of each.

We also didn't get the sushi we ordered until close to the end of the night even though we asked her about it throughout. When we did get the sushi order, one of it was a handroll when we specifically checked off the maki (6-piece) selection.

Then at the end of the night, she tried to charge us for that plate of beef bulgogi that she placed on the grill that was incorrect and furthermore had the nerve to add 18% to the bill. I expected the 18% to be added automatically at the beginning of the night but after such a horrible experience I did not believe she had the audacity to do that.

Besides the horrible service by that specific waitress, the food was not bad (I don't like plain Kalbi), and normally that place is not too awful.

Lying to customers...not good. The "banchan" (side dishes) come in very small portions comparing to other Korean restaurants in big Cities like New York and LA. You'll have to ask several times for more...and more.Taste-wise, it was average. We asked for fresh garlic 2 times, because the portions were too small. The third time, we were told that they run out of garlic!!! A Korean restaurant without garlic!!! Like a diner without ketchup, a sushi bar without gari (pickled ginger), a Mexican without salsa...you get the idea...They lied to us...why not ask: We'll have to charge you for the extra garlic? I hate to say this, but must definitely, this wouldn't have happened if we were Koreans.

The meats were average-good (small portions). Soon Doo Boo, a little on the salty side. Leaving the restaurant, there wasn't even a "thank you" , but just a "stare" from the staff.....needless to say, I won't go back.

Great time for celebration. I recently went here in Coolidge corner to celebrate my brother's b-day. There were 7 of us at one of their tables, and the service was great. I have been in the restaurant business for over ten years now, and while the service wasn't the best, it was definitely better than I find at most establishments in Boston. The waitress was friendly and attentive, we always had refills on whatever beverage we were drinking, and she clearly explained all the spices and side dishes to us (as most of us had never been there before).

The appetizers were great. The sushi was good, but the BBQ combo platter was amazing. Tender pork, beef, chicken and rib meat all served raw, and cooked in front of us. The waitress help in the cooking, and made sure we had enough lettuce and sides to keep us happy.

All in all a great time for a larger to mid-sized group. I don't know what these other people experienced, maybe they just came on a bad day there, or maybe I just came on a good day. Who knows.

a waste of money. They must have a new owner or management. Had eaten there in the past and it was excellent.

Recently went there with my daughter - food and service was lousy. Sad to see the demise of what had been a great restaurant.

Worst Service Ever. I went to this restaurant earlier this year a few times and was really impressed by the high quality and authenticity of its food and its attentive wait staff - and I have been around this area close to two decades and have been to a lot of Korean-Japanese restaurants. Unfortunately, however, my most recent experience was my worst restaurant experience ever. The food was nothing like we had before - almost spoiled meat (I had to take out of my mouth one piece of chicken that had clearly gone bad), less than fresh vegetables, excessive use of spice (I and my children grew up enjoying spicy food and eat them all the time, but for all of us, its spicy food was off the wall), incredibly small portion and variety in comparison to their own previous ones let alone other restaurants. In addition, the waiter brought food in reverse sequences (lettuces should come together with BBQ, but came almost after we finished the dish; I also want to point out that previously lettuces were served with thinly sliced scallions and sesame leaves, which were missing this time), never offered or asked refills for the side-dishes (Korean restaurant's basic service), didn't bring or refill water and drinks in time, didn't bring the dessert menu or check in time, and even didn't offer a doggy bagging for the left-over (we had to order an additional dish since the portion was small, but then the dish came out so late and the quality was so poor that we didn't feel like finishing it anyway). When I came out to talk to the manager, she apologized profusely, but all she offered was three calendars of their own, and the waiter actually tried to drag me into an argument whether he brought things in the middle or in reverse order. Even then, another waiter came with water and refilled only five out of six empty water glasses. It was my worst restaurant experience ever, and I strongly recommend that the customers boycott this restaurant until they come up with better food and service.
