Editorial Review for Park Blue – by Kara Zuaro
The Scene
Dark wood and midnight blue color the interior of this long and lean wine bar. The tall tables and low banquets, the elegant softly glowing sconces, and the well-stocked, back-lit bar are all sleek and chic while the staff is warm and inviting. The seasoned maitre'd, who also happens to be the owner, greets every guest.
The Draw
Sophisticated bar food, a skilled mixologist, and a killer wine list entice a classy crowd after work and after hours. When the five o'clock whistle blows, Midtown professionals stop by for crispy crab fritters, classic cocktails and specialty drinks--try the pleasantly pulpy strawberry and lychee rum punch or champagne with blueberry puree. After the midnight hour, local restaurant staffers, including chefs and sommeliers from the nearby Time Warner Center, stop by post-shift to ponder the wide selection of half-size wine bottles and savor late-night breakfasts of lobster eggs benedict.

What a mistake!! From the minute we arrived, the female bartender was rude and unaccommodating. Every drink we ordered was met with some sort of "problem". Example - I ordered 2 bottles of champagne (on top of our $400+ tab) and she refused to allow me to pay for the bottles separately. After I protested, she sold them to my but added 20% gratuity to my check!! Overall, the staff was unpleasant, rude and utterly unwelcoming to my group. I would NEVER return and hope that in this recessed economy, you will spend your hard-earned dollars elsewhere!!!
Pros: Lovely decord, convenient midtown location
Cons: Unfriendly staff, expensive drinks

Excellent wine selection(many by the half bottle), good beer selection and a friendly staff make Park Blue a great choice. They serve tasty food as well in case you don't want to leave hungry. A Very nice spot indeed!
Pros: Wine, Ambiance
