Gluten Free menu rocks!!!.
I was pleasantly surprised by my dinner at Nebo. Great atmosphere the place was hopping when I got there just before 7pm. I started the night off with a new Gluten Free beer, Estrella Daura, a good clean lager made for a great start to the evening
Ordering was a challenge because there were over 50 gluten free items on the menu. Talk about variety. Having the added challenge of being lactose intolerant, I had to rely on help from the server. She didn’t fail. She knew the menu well, in fact, when in doubt, she checked with the chef. I was beginning to get a warm feeling about the place.
Settling in for my first course, calamari fritti with Mediterranean aioli. Mmmm… The calamari was lightly battered, golden brown and very delicious. It didn’t have that heavy taste that sometimes comes with GF batters. Light and crispy, I was pleasantly awaiting more.
I dove into my prosciutto e fichi pizza without cheese, but added, caramelized onions. So sweet! They have 21 pizzas to choose from, plus a whole group of extra toppings. The crust is soft, not the hard thin crust I am used to, an extremely thin focaccia with hints of olive oil and nuttiness with a crunch. The sweetness of the onion, figs against the saltiness of the prosciutto made this a great dinning experience. I was full half way through the pizza, but couldn’t stop. It was that good. I might have liked more of a fig spread rather than cut up whole figs so that I could have had a more balanced fig flavor, but it was very tasty nonetheless. (have I mentioned LOVE figs)
I chatted with Carla Pallotta,, half the dynamic duo that runs Nebo. She and her sister Christine, came up with the idea for the Gluten Free menu after a few experimental dinners in their kitchen for a few celiac friends. They have certainly done well. Overall great experience. By the way I failed to mention that I got stood up that night. A couple of friends had to bail at the last minute, but that certainly didn’t dampen my spirits.

Bad, Worse, Nebo - worst service ever.
Honestly, the first time I was at Nebo, I liked the atmosphere and the food. So I decided to go again last Saturday. We had a reservation for 5pm and have been slightly early at 4.45pm - we noticed the door was open, so we wanted to come in and ask if we can already have a seat (especially since it was cold outside). But we did not even have a chance to come in since your hostess immediately ran towards us and kicked us out with the worst attitude I've ever seen, saying "WE'RE OPENING AT 5!" and locked the door. We did not even have the chance to say anything. The food might be good, but I would not even have expected this kind of behavior at Mc Donald’s. That was just really rude.
(I think I don't have to mention, that we didn't come back at 5pm - we went to PF Changs.)
Most Delicious Restaurant In The NEBO.
NEBO is by far my favorite restaurant of all time. It is the perfect mix of sophistication and casual dining for an after work drink, a date night or grabbing a bite to eat before an event at the Garden. NEBO is suitable for all ages and is definatley a crowd pleaser for all.
The italian style food at NEBO is tasty and delicious! You can't go wrong with ordering any of the pizzas on the menu, they are all yummy. The Cozze, Calamari Fritti and Timballo di Melanzana are some of my favorites and I would highly recommend to anyone. You can't go wrong with a visit to NEBO, go dine and enjoy. Your in for a treat at an affordable price!
Try the Dessert Pizza. Went to Nebo with 15 friends to celebrate my 18th birthday, and they were happy to see us! I had been there before and love this restaurant, especially the dessert pizza with nutella and hazelnuts. My friends couldn’t get enough of the shrimp pizza and kept ordering more, the wait-staff was great and very patient. The owners Carla and Christine kept coming over to the table and talking and joking with us, we all felt very special. It was a really fun night and my friends who had never been before still talk about it. We are planning to go before a concert next month.
Can't get enough of NEBO.
From my first visit I knew this would become a favorite, the food is delicious, best fried calamari I have ever had and the mussels, chicken limone and pizza are to die for.
Love the atmosphere. Its perfect for a quick bite and a drink at the bar, (by the way, Brian makes the best Sangria!) or for dinner with friends. I recommend ordering a little of everything then passing it around, you won't be disappointed.
Can't wait to go back, try it if you haven't already, you will love it!
Not worth it. went after the hockey game last night and ordered a salad which was essentially wilted, a pizza that had no toppings even though we ordered toppings and service that was average at best. won't be coming back here and would not recommend. I guess they count on the before and after crowd from the Garden who does not know any better.
Warning-STAY AWAY. We made a reservation for three and were stuck at a two-top table in the corner where we could not even reach our food on the table due to the crush of our legs in the way. When we complained, we were told we could eat elsewhere. When we asked for simple bread, we received garlic- covered stale toast and were charged for it! Part of our food order was completely forgotten. The food, overall, was mediocre at best and overpriced. Overall, a terrible experience...stay away!
Great for gluten-free!. My family went here twice in 4 days! Have a full gluten-free menu including pizza, pastas, entrees and desserts. The gluten-free pizza crust tastes great and has a great texture. The entrees (try the breaded chicken!) are good and can be made gluten-free as well. The desserts (the lemon torte had a sweet yet tart taste with a rich and flaky gluten-free shell) are delicious. Normal menu is excellent as well!
Great gluten free Pizza. Went on line to find a good eatery that caters to celiac's as well as Vegans. People with celiac disease cannot eat gluten. We had the greatest experience!!! Went on a Thursday night met the one of the owners Carla, she was so welcoming , the menu, the food was so delicious!!! I had a pizza a delicious pizza at that out!!!! I have since gone back about 3 times and myself and friends have enjoyed Nebos very much. Another fun fact is parking is not too bad. You can walk over to the North End for a stroll as it is right around the corner. Glad to have found a nice place to relax and enjoy delicious Italian food with out the gluten.. Good Luck Carla and Christine Dianne Desmond
Why?. This was the worst dining experience I've had in Boston. I simply cannot understand how this place gets so many good reviews. The pizza was bland and overpriced; our waiter indifferent at best. When we asked for bread (because of the loooong wait) we were given stale bread and CHARGED for it. Atmosphere is nothing special. A very negative experience.
