Nori Sushi is no more. It has been replaced by Genki Ya an organic place that is delicious!! The atmosphere of Nori was better, but the service and taste improvements with Genki Ya are fantastic : )

We go to this restaurant often. Oishii is by far the best in the Boston area, but Oishii in Brookline/Chestnut hill leaves an atmosphere to be desired. This is a Japanese restaurant that has the right comfortable, take your time atmosphere (you could take your parents, a date, business meeting), none of the throwing food around or disney-like atmosphere. The service is friendly, the sushi is just above average. I've probably been here 10x in a year because balancing the quality of sushi, friendliness of staff, cost, and atmosphere balance it to be my local preference. However, the sushi sometimes leaves something to be desired, even by a full belly. The last time I ate here, the day before Thanksgiving, the rolls seemed rather empty (compared to usual) and it wasn't rolled very tightly, it fell apart before I dipped it in soy sauce. This was the first time I've experienced the poorly done sushi or left there disappointed. Must have been an off day, I don't think they expected to be busy... but it was a disappointing trip. So, if you're looking for a balance of positive qualities in a restaurant, medium cost (for sushi), and not necessarily great sushi, I recommend this restaurant. My boyfriend and I spend about $45 for 2 including tip each time we go.

Pros: At this price, don't expect top quality, comfortable for a group up to 8

Cons: Calming, pleasant atmosphere, service, cost
