A Charlestown hidden gem.. Not easy to find, but worth the trip. The restaurant is hidden away behind a Store24 at the Navy Shipyard in Charlestown. It is a small and intimate locale. The sangria was great. Had the tuna tartare appetizer and veal osso bucco for dinner. The portions were generous and the food was delectable. Will definitely be going back.
Truly one of the BEST in Boston.
GREAT food, GREAT service, and the best part... GREAT prices. I live in the South End and have tried many, many restaurants and I am ecstatic to have found this one!! I have been here 3 times in one week and I can't get enough of it. Why go to a restaurant and pay 3 times more for the same quality meal, if not, better?! My favs: Foie gras, for a mere $12, it is absolutely delicious and better than the one I've had at Excelsior; Tuna tartar, salmon and the special steak. The chef, owner and staff always make me feel at home--They even remembered my name when I came back a 2nd time!!
Best deal: Every Tuesday night- 4 course meal with wine pairing for $40. Oh, and if that isn't good enough, the price includes taxes AND gratuity!!
EXCELLENT FOOD AMAZING PRICES. AMAZING. CAN NOT BEAT THE PRICES! WONDERFUL WINE LIST. SMALL AND INTIMATE, SO MAKE RESERVATIONS. THE WEEKEND IS SO BUSY. I ALWAYS GET THE ROASTED CHICKEN WITH SEASONAL VEGIES , LARGE QUANTITY FOR ABOUT 14$ . A MUST VISIT
Loved it.. We hopped on the ferry from Long Wharf to the Navy Yard. We found the NY bistro tucked into a green little corner off the main road. The patio was lovely and quiet. The mussels were amazing - plump and fabulously fresh. The manager came to the table to present our wine and then made a point of making sure we enjoyed our meals as we were leaving. The staff in general was warm and welcoming.
Keeping it Real!. Everything at the Navy Yard Bistro is top-notch. I go there all the time with friends. Each time is excellent. All of my friends are impressed and want to go back. It's a neighborhood kind of place, with a lot of warmth. The service is great and the help is very friendly. The food is always the best. I love the chicken dish, but hey try the Hangar Steak. Oh and the mash potatoes. Salads are great too. Oh and the desserts, chocolate cake with whipped cream! A great place to just hang out at the bar for a glass of nice wine. I highly recommend this place and the price is right!
Excellent! Quintessential Boston. We went fishing all day and walked off the boat right into the bistro. Cold, hungry, and thirsty, we couldn't have asked for anything more. As soon as you walk in you feel warm with the cozy bar and kitchen. We ate at the bar while watching the Red Sox and had an amazing meal. Mussels to start (highly recommended) and then the hangar steak. My friend had the sirloin special over mashed potatoes! The manager waited on us from behind the bar and we me the owner who was helping out. Both were great. After trading a couple of fishing stories with the manager and the locals, and a few beers and glasses of great red wine, we were ready to go back out on the water....
Great Food, Great Wine. This small restaurant offers a very reasonably priced, well varied wine list and their food is absolutely incredible as well as reasonably priced. I must also commend the warm and knowledgeable service. We've been to dinner and a wine tasting there. The wine tasting is not for those looking to learn more about wine and wine tasting but for those looking to try several tastes of food and wine from the menu. The wine tasting is a fabulous value. I recommend reserving a spot for the wine tasting, offered every Thursday night. The cost is between $20 and $25 depending on the evening's selection. Expect 3 full glasses of wine and 3 scrumptious appetizer sized plates of food with each glass. The time we went, all three plates were meat dishes with accompaniments but I noticed they had an option for a vegetarian in attendance.
great new restaurant. Apparently this restaurant just opened in August, but you would never guess it. Amazing prices for food you would expect to find at the Ritz. The beet salad, salmon and chocolate torte were all excellent. The service was friendly and knowledgable. Highly reccomended.
