HORRIBLE MOVERS

We rented our own truck and only utilized this company to load the truck. We were going to the out of state driving our selves. They showed up 45 min. early (we were off getting our rental) and they charged us for arriving at 7:15!! Two of the 3 guys were younger and rude. We had small children who apparenlty annoyed them and they had no roblem expressing that continuesly which made for a VERY stressful day. We had explained up front to pack certain items last (and were labeled as such) for they were important business boxes. We also explained we had another location to go to. We had a 3-4 bedroom home truck.They packed so poorly that there was no room left to fit stuff in from our other location. We had to go and swap items out (heavier for lighter) for it was that day we had the extra help. That resulted in an extra day charge on the truck rental for us not to mention an entire day spent for my husband and I on moving things ourselves AND extra milage.Isn't that why we hired movers???? When we opened the truck at that location, our table and microvave fell out. Our one of a kind large picture was thrown in back and damaged. They ended up charging us almost $600 for a job that was specifically quoted $297. We asked al the right questions upfront, none the less, there were all sorts of "hidden" charges. When we explained we needed more room (which again had been explained on the phone and again the day of the move), that there was another location, we got attitude from the 2 younger guys who I beleive at that point re-shuffled our things which resulted in the damage I spoke of earlier. They packed those important boxes FIRST. Upon arriving at our new location after a long day of moving and working we had to un pack ourselves to get to those items. That meant the guys hired to unload had a pretty easy job since we had to do most of the unpacking our selves to get to those items. Save yourself the money- DO NOT US THESE UNPROFESSIONAL,RUDE THIEVES.Go through U-haul or similiar, they are great resources. BTW, the guys hired on the other side to un load were great. Summary: almost $600 spent in aggaravation, extra day of truck rental, extra milage,extra gas, extra moving day that we had to do ourselves,attitude, and damaged items.

Bad movers, bad management, BAD COMPANY!

We used this company to move to California in June 2008. The experience was horrible from the beginning to the end:
* crew in Boston came in with insufficient packing material, late in the afternoon. They had no interest whatsoever in packing things right, but only to get out of my place in a hurry. They ended up forgetting stuff and damaging things.
* crew in San Francisco was even worse - actually I don't even think they were BQM employees to begin with. They came in late, missed appointments, mounted stuff incorrectly and damaged my property. When I say what they were doing and tried to stop them cause more damage they threatened me to leave without completing the job!
* although insured after more than one year from submitting my claim BQM denied the reimbursement for the damages their crew caused asserting that their driver said they did not cause any damage.
Folks, STAY AWAY from these guys. They will come in, low ball the estimate to win the job, then come after you with additional fees later and send a bunch of unqualified workers with no supervision to do the job. I was stupid I feel into their trap - I hope I can save someone else from making the same mistake I did.
good movers BADDDD management

the company told me they were coming to move my apartment between 12-2pm. they didn't show up until 4ish and never called to let us know that they were going to be late. they miss estimated the time needed to move another apartment and they miss estimated the time required to move my apartment even though i told them repeated that it was on the third floor but they never took that into consideration.
after they moved us, i asked to talk to the manager. i politely explained the situation to Eli and asked if they could do anything. he pretended that he was a lowly worker at the company and couldn't make the decision when in fact he was the president of the company. he never apologized to me for being late and yelled at his movers through the phone. and i could hear him telling his movers not to put me on the phone. he was extremely rude and unprofessional over the phone. he treated his employees like slaves and his customers even worse.
- Pros: movers worked extremely hard
- Cons: management is sleezy and non-responsive to customers
