In Short – With its artsy touches, comfy seating and stylish tunes (both live acts and DJs take over the dance floor), the Opal Lounge is one of Downtown's trendiest destinations. Late-night crowds fill the space on weekends, while smartly dressed professionals swing by Tuesdays through Fridays after work. On Tuesdays, from 5pm-9pm, a manicurist stops by to clean up patrons' cuticles for a small fee.

Awesome evening

We showed up on a whim from out of town. C-Money and the group were incredible. I was amazed at what I was seeing as 2 DJ's put out beats and mixed away together. Up walks a trumpet player who just goes with the beat and flow. Joined soon by a sax and small horn, they had everyone mezmerized as they went on taking turns and just matching the mood and flow.
- Pros: easy cab access, intimate atmosphere
- Cons: upstairs over shops

The hidden gem-

This place is the perfect little spot to share some cocktails and conversation with friends. Saturday nights they now have live jazz/hip-hop with C-money and the players. This was a real treat. paired with the ambiance and the drinks it was a great evening to be with friends. Very New York in the sense of hidden away and a little hard to find, but once we were there we were absolutely blown away!

Matinis and Manicures

Martinis and manicures....what a fabulous idea! If only Opal ounge had executed this in an orderly fashion and did not allow mass choas to reign - then they might have a fighting chance. Some friends and I went to have a fun girls night - and it was anything but fun. We arrived early (having been told that they do not accept reservations for this event), we thought it wise to do so. Despite our early arrival - the earliest that we could get our nails done was within 2 hours. That would have been totally fine - if there had been any validity to that. After checking in at our designated time - we were told another 10 minutes. Well - after that happened about 4 times - we had had it. After speaking to the manager - who clearly did not care what the situation was, we left.
