Cocaine, Waiting in Line. I came from NYC to check out MIddlesex. After waiting for 1.5 hours in line and making little progress, I asked the bouncer what was happening. He couldn't speak well and couldn't provide reasonable answers. I had seen nearly 30 people leave the club and only 5 enter. There were clearly door politics going on, but the funny thing was, not even 'Exclusive People' were entering. It was as if they wanted to keep a line no matter what. Funny? I quickly learned from some bystanders that there was serious drug usage (pretending to snort cocaine) going on inside the club. The bouncers were rude and not educated enough to hold a reasonable conversation. Middlesex reminds me of the clubs in NYC that don't make it past year 1. I hope they get their act together.

Crowded, but great dancing and drinks!. I really enjoy the middlesex-- the drinks are really fantastic. I love their list has wonderful crafted drinks that are interesting and they're available during the club nights they host. The music is always awesome, and they have a huge variety in the types of nights they put on. The drawbacks would be that the place is small so it does get really crowded, and of course, there are some douchebags who go. Not much you can do about the latter except avoid them and have your good time :)

Crowded but fun (if you can get in). Middlesex somehow gives off a NY vibe in the middle of Cambridge. But arrive after 1030pm at your own risk... the line can get super long. I normally would suggest checking the line on the InstantNightlife website, but Msex isn't listed with them unfortunately...

Delicious, fun casual setting. I love the vibe here and the soup was amazing. Their lunch menu is sandwiches, soups and salads primarily. The prices were totally fair and the soup/sandwich combo came with an enormous bowl of soup. I had the corn chowder with cilantro oil. So yummy! The little croutons were a bit softer than I would like but really the soup was fine without them.

I love the comfy seating and the low tables and how everything could move around. Looks like it would be a really fun night spot too!

Best Place to Get Your Groove On. I looove Middlesex! I rarely hang out in Cambridge but this is one bar I have never had a bad time at. At first sight it looks totally boring, it's just a tiny empty room. But right around 10:30 (and make sure you get there early cause a crazy line forms) the kids rush in and it becomes packed. I first fell in love on my third visit, it was late in the evening and the DJ was choosing the most insane songs to mashup. I looked around and realized EVERYONE was dancing. Not just dancing, breaking it down. I have never seen another bar where not a single person was awkwardly standing. I love the mix of people here, super friendly and not pretentious at all. And I love the girl DJs! Go here, you will fall in love too.

Don't even bother. I live in NYC so I'm used to long lines but the lines at Middlesex were beyond absurd. After waiting for 30 minutes the line hadn't moved an inch and we noticed girls who looked like they belonged in a trailer park slipping past the bouncer (who BTW was wearing white pants after Labor Day). Apparently we weren't aggressive enough and didn't slur our words just the right way. The music was ok (from what we heard outside) but after 45 minutes we gave up. Next time, I'll just head to a neighboring gay bar where I know there are no lines, good music, and men who how to appreciate a cute girl when they see one!

great deejays. Depending on what night you go the middlesex can be amazing or comletely boring. there is nothing great about the bar itself except for maybe a good mojito if that's your thing. The D.Js makes it or breaks it but almost everytime I've gone the D.J. has been fantastic. Pretty Boy Jones plays there about once a month. It's like every song that comes on you think, this is my favorite song..and then he mixes it with another completely different one of equal merit and you got yourself a good time. DJ Kon is also noteworthy and tends to play a lot more hip hop and early 90's pop songs. Overall I'd definitely recommend it, just know who's going to be there before you go.

Too bad it's closed down. Too bad this place went out of business. Loved the atmosphere, burgs were awesome but now it's out of biz which is really a shame.

Worst experience at a night club.. This place is an absolute trash. The rudest bouncers. On a saturday night I was made to wait 45 mins in the line. And there were only 5 people who were let in before me. When I asked the bouncer why he is not letting in, he says "You dont know how this place works?" Meanwhile Another guy pulls me aside and whispers "Pay him 20 bucks and he will let you in".. I guess this dude who pulled me aside either works in this crazy place or is the Bouncers friend. After all the long wait, the bouncer did not let me in since I got into an argument with him. That was one of the worst experiences for me at a night club.

Dungeon: Beware. This place is a dungeon.

Nothing is Chic about it.

A big romper room with nothing in it.

Just dark walls due to no lights

DIrt floors and one bathroom.

Music is good, but the atmosphere is what matters.

Drinks were expensive too.

Worst part is bouncers threw a kid out into the the snow out the back door. It was wrong.

Bouncers manhandling anyone is wrong. .
