“good addition to the south end, its nice to see a neighborhood place where regulars are greeted by first name and servers actually have a personality rather than the bland fakeness of most other upscale dining places in the neighborhood.”
“frequent picco, the food is always fresh with lots of flavor, i will admit that it takes awhile at times especially during busy lunch or evening hours, but the friendly waitstaff and bartenders always make the wait worth it.”
“Unfortunately, the service is very slow, but it is worth it.”View Less
Best Pizza I've ever had. Last year my roommate and I came across this place completely by accident as he was craving fish taco's (a dish they serve in summer) and a quick google search told us that Picco's was one of the only places to serve them. After a quick walk to the south end we were surprised to find a pizza place. Unfortunately, they had stopped serving taco's for the year but we didn't want to leave empty handed so we tried the pizza. I could eat pizza every day forever and not get sick of it, and I can honestly say that this is the best pizza I have ever had. being that we are college student, we can't always afford it, but when we can it is one of the best meals we will have for a long time. Sooooo happy to have stumbled upon this place.…
Best South End Pizza. Pizza and ice cream are my two vices so a place with both is an easy will with me. But the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff don't hurt either! I always get the Alsatian: onions, shallots, garlic, crème fraiche, bacon and gruyere but get mushroom instead of bacon since I don't eat meat. YUM! In the summer they have very tasty lemonade too!…
balanced flavors, focussed menu, attentive service.
I cam in with a group of about 15 people. It was a thursday night at 10:00pm. The hostess was pretty rude, I am not sure if she was nervous about having such a large group there or if she is
generally unfriendly to customers. After we were seated our drink orders were take. The waitress answered all our questions and had no problem splitting up the group and making 2 separate checks. The food did take a little while to come out of the kitchen but not too long. And it was worth it. I had the masterful hummus bruschetta, a little garden salad (maybe a tad over dressed as the other review mentioned but flavorful nonetheless) and the margherita pizza. The pizza crust was perfectly crispy and had a nice flavor.
The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. I will definitely come back. There are some great choices on the beer and wine menu, too (La Fin Du Monde and raspberry Lambic).…
Delicious. This place has possibly the best pizza I've tried. Very good sauce and thin crust. Their other menu choices are good as well, especially their meatball/chicken parm sandwiches. I did find it strange that you have to order cheese as an extra for a calzone. Shouldn't cheese be included, and you just choose which one you like? You get to choose 3 stuffings for the calzone, and one of them is the cheese. So be aware that if you don't pick a cheese, you'll end up with bread full of whatever else you choose. Unfortunately, the service is very slow, but it is worth it. If you have time for a slow, relaxing dinner, go to Picco's. Their warm gingerbread and ice cream dessert is TO DIE FOR! Most delicious thing on the menu. The atmosphere is casual, and the outdoor seating is nice on summer nights. Prices aren't too bad, considering their personal pizza is large enough that I bring a doggy bag home. Enjoy!…
Delicious pizza!!!. My friend and I were in the area and wanted a nice place to eat, but didn't want to pay a fortune like most of the restaurants in the South End. We decided on Picco after reading reviews on CitySearch. It had a very cozy atmosphere. The Margherita pizza was delicious! We got a small which was perfect for two girls and a salad each (which was also tasty). The total came to $25, which I thought was a good price. We will definately return (I really want to try the ice cream next time)!!…
