“If you are looking for top quality shoe repair service I would recommend Odessa at 3 Center Plaza.”
“His work is excellent and the prices are very reasonable.”
My worst experience at a cobblers ever!. This was my worst experience ever going to a shoe repair shop. The owner was not only extremely rude to me, but also to the two people in front of me. I had come in asking him for advice to prevent a cracks in leather. I had a crack in my boot which I showed him and he then proceeded to tell me "You have nice boots and should not be allowed to own boots like that. There is nothing I can do. You ruined them." So the entire time I was getting yelled at I was holding 2 products and trying to purchase them. After his 10 minute thrashing I purchased the items (only because I needed them ASAP or else I would have left beforehand). It was an awful experience. And my boots were in such bad shape because I followed his instructions on how to care for them last fall. The boots that he also said that nothing could be done to where sent to another cobbler who made them look like knew. I really don't think he should be so rude to customers because his lack of skill. He also yelled at me for having them resoled by another cobbler and then tried to blame the crack on them. Overall it was a horrible experience and I do not recommend anybody go to him ever for anything. I will never go there again. Afterall Beacon Hill Shoe repair (Who also has the Barney's NY account did a fabulous job repairing my Fiorentini + Baker boots).
Fast, Affordable... and he was nice to me.
After reading the first two reviews, I walked in expecting a lecture about my sinful boot abuse - choosing to deal with it because of the very convenient location (right in Govt Center).
However, I was greeted warmly, and the condition of my boots was not harshly judged (at least not out loud). He repaired the damaged one right in front of me and handed it back to me to approve of his work. He told me he would polish them and I could pick them up the next day.
The grand total for the repair and the polish - 6 bucks. Can't go wrong with that.
Shoes like New. If you are looking for top quality shoe repair service I would recommend Odessa at 3 Center Plaza. The man there fixed my broken down heels up like new, but be prepared to be told by the owner very bluntly that your shoes are in poor condition and that you shouldn't let them get so bad. A bit nervy, but very good at his work. Just don't take his comments personally. His work is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. A very convenient location and hours too.
Mean!. When I brought in my boots to be re-soled and asked how much it would cost, the person in the store told me it would be expensive because this was "my fault." He literally started yelling at me for not taking good enough care of my boots. Finally I said, "Look, I'm not looking for salvation here, I'm just looking for help with my boots." In a nutshell, he was a abrasive and unhelpful and I ended up deciding to go elsewhere!
