Great Ambience, Great Food. I have eaten at Solstice several times, most recently two nights ago. I had the tuna and my wife had the lobster risotto. Our food was excellent, the seafood was fresh and prepared as ordered. The wine list has improved from when we started going there and now includes a better selection worthy of such an upscale resturant. I really love the atmosphere here. They turned an old train station into a beautiful place with lots of turn-of-the-century charm and a nice fireplace. The service was attentive. We made reservations and were promtly seated on-time.
Best restaurant south of Boston.. Excellent restaurant. Chef owned restaurant aims high for the suburbs and pulls it off in a comfortable stylish setting. I've dined in this restaurant many times since it's opening three years ago, and I've yet to be dissappointed. Warning, it can be crazy on weekend nights, a result of their own success and a lack of any local restaurant even close to it's caliber. Service far superior to any other restaurant in the area. Bartenders a gem.
We expected much better for these prices. Our salads, scallops with risotto and perfectly grilled steak were delicious, but uneven quality and the attitude of our cold, unhelpful waiter ruined a potentially excellent meal. The entire steak dinner arrived lukewarm, including unappetizing cold mashed potatoes. Our request for hotter potatoes brought an equally tepid plop, and we were all but ignored thereafter. Our water was never topped off (perhaps a penalty for ordering only a beer instead of a bottle of wine).
Loved Everything!. I went there last night with my husband. The atmosphere is very relaxing and beautiful. The service was great. The food was even better. I got the tuna and my husband got the sirloin. It was prefect. I would reccomend this to everyone!
Hidden jewel. As the restaurants in the South Shore close and move, Solstice is a real winner. Hidden in the old Kingston train station, it provides a wonderfully imaginative menu with perfect flavors. One snowy night last year, they were still full when other places just closed up.
