“also thought that this food was a bit more expensive than it should have been considering that there are other indian restaurants in the neighborhood that cost less and have comparable quality food, but don't have the nice dining room that Rani has.” View Less

What a bargain!. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The only reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is because I haven't tried enough dishes. I come here a lot with my brother during the lunch buffet which is a steal. This place differs from Gourmet India (they might have changed there name) down the street because it is a lot more of a restaurant. They have nice white linen table clothes with friendly waiter service.

The buffet is awesome. I have had better in JP but this place is definitely up there. I do not know the name of anything. I hate to quote Andrew Zimmern but "if it looks good, eat it!" That is my mindset when it comes to Indian food and food I am not familiar with. I have become more familiar with Indian food but I just don't know the names. I always go with "Oh I'll have the green crap with chunks of cheese in it" or "I want those friend onion ball thingies" They must hate people like me but I love food like that. If you are in the Brookline area, definitely hit this place up for lunch. It is such a bargain.

Think twice!. If you like authentic Indian food....... don't even bother to visit this place. The food is bland... and is the awe-inspiring. In the end I'd just say there are better places in and around Boston to spend your money at!

Superb food, Excellent waitstaffs. The first time ever i went to have some indian food was at rani, the server was cool. He helped me decide food, carefully explaining wat will be good for me and why. The attention he gave was overwhelming. I'm a regular diner at Rani now.

Overall a great experience each time great cocktails, great indian food, superb non-indian servers.*****

Excellent. I have been going to this restaurant (and its previous incarnation) for years. The food and service are remarkably consistent and excellent. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and willing to engage in discussion of Indian food and cooking.

Best Indian Food in Boston. Go here for some of the most unique and exciting ecletic Inidan food in Boston! A little expensive. Make a reservation on weekends.
