This has become our new "our place".
My wife and I have been to a thousand restaurants over the years, and while we often patronized Del Fino, we never went to this great little place.
We decide to go to Birch Street for a drink while we wait for our table at Del Fino.
First off - I was blown away by the bar. It's beautiful and comfortable. The serivce was tremendous - both at the bar, and every time we've dined since then.
The menu is not overwhelming, and it's delicious. I've tried about everything except lamb which I don't like anyway.
Finally - not that this matter much - but the owner is a courteous and professional guy. you get the feeling he really wants to know what you think when he asks, instead of just going through the motions.
When it's a special occasiona and we're not going in town - this is the place we go.
Seafood specials are delicious.. Accomodating and knowledgable staff. Food was fabulous. We felt welcomed and enjoyed our night out.
Nice Bar. My husband and I have been to the Birch Street Bistro twice and we plan on returning. We bought a gift certificate each time we were there. It has a great atmosphere and the granite bar is very nice. We also love the booths across from the bar. They have a good selection of beer and the food is excellent. The staff is great.
nice pesto!. We had a nice experience here. Waitstaff was friendly though a bit slow - food was above average and priced moderately. Wine was great.
Delicious Menu! Great outsitde area, beautiful big marble bar!. Birch Street Bistro is my new favorite place. We go there to sit outside in the huge courtyard (shared with 2 other great Roslindale restuarants) or to sit at the big marble bar. The food is tremendous with lots of variety. They do a pizza special everynight, very creative toppings that are always fabulous! I had a cheeseburger last night that was the best I've had in a long time. For an app, we usually order the chicken, pineapple, red pepper kabobs that are out of this world though last night we had huge fried shrimp with a coconut curry sauce that was wonderful. The staff is great and the the atmosphere is very cool.
Roslindale Center's most contemporary dining destination serves up modern comfort fare..
In Short

A stylish bar area sports TVs for watching the game, as a welcoming menu of upscale appetizers (slow-roasted ribs, fried calamari, duck confit spring rolls) to match.
