The Scene – Imagine a sports bar opening inside the neighborhood library. Lir's 21 televisions are nestled inside dense, largely decorative bookshelves, ensuring that the game is always on. An enormous spiral staircase leads to a similar bar upstairs, and of course, more TVs. A hidden "chill-out room" in the basement promises loungey digs with clubby music, popular for the younger late-night crowd. do NOT go here

by huewalsh20

this place sux!! no only are the drink week, but the bartenders aren't anything to write home about. the music was boring and my chicken was undercooked. And the so called "bar manager" had no idea how to handle herself in a professional maner and was rude. I would never go here again! Boston has so many other places to offer than this hole!

Good sports/afterwork bar, great location

by beanbagger

I've watched a few Sox games here - and the crowd is usually good. Good place to grab a drink afterwork with local professionals. Not the greatest bar, but definitely worth a stop in - the location can't be beat.

Yet Another Bad Experience

by RLucier

Despite reading the previous reviews, I ventured out to Lir on Friday night. Big mistake.... Like the others, I was overcharged. Although my total came to a mere $8, my bank statement showed showed that $58 had been deducted from my account.
