Bad experience overall. I'll be blunt: I understand the bars need to make money, but you can't get my hard earned cash if I can't make it to the bar. Plain and simple. Lir, this past saturday night, was obnoxiously packed... I wonder if they were over capcity? Most likely.

Fighting my way to the bathroom was zero fun, oh and waiting over 20 minutes to get beers is inexcusable.

In all seriousness though, the management should address the capacity issue.... 2nd time in 4 months I come here and it's too crowded. Just ruins the night.

OK, no thanks to staff. The only thing you really need to have a good time when you go out is drinks for you and your friends, and a space to hang out and drink them in. Bonus if you have drunken doofuses nearby to make fun of with said friends. Lir has all of the above. Check. But I just had to post that the other reviewers are completely right about the beyond crappy service. The skanky-dressing, old bartender who works there needs to find a new job because she is clearly miserable doing what she does. Irish bars are supposed to be welcoming (right?) but here, when you order, this lady makes a face like a bitchy fifteen-year-old being asked to take out the trash.

do NOT go here. this place sux!! no only are the drink week, but the bartenders aren't anything to write home about. the music was boring and my chicken was undercooked. And the so called "bar manager" had no idea how to handle herself in a professional maner and was rude. I would never go here again! Boston has so many other places to offer than this hole!

Good sports/afterwork bar, great location. I've watched a few Sox games here - and the crowd is usually good. Good place to grab a drink afterwork with local professionals. Not the greatest bar, but definitely worth a stop in - the location can't be beat.

Yet Another Bad Experience. Despite reading the previous reviews, I ventured out to Lir on Friday night. Big mistake.... Like the others, I was overcharged. Although my total came to a mere $8, my bank statement showed showed that $58 had been deducted from my account.
