In Short – The Moakley Courthouse's workers stop by this branch of the local chain for a sustaining lunch or an after-work dinner. The fabled fried calamari is as good as advertised; lightly battered and served with a traditional marinara sauce, it's a perfect appetizer. Cuts of swordfish and tuna are simply grilled with lemon or sauteed with mushrooms and onions and splashed with balsamic vinegar. Several dishes are served in the pan in which they were prepared.

The Worst restaurant in Boston
by ivan77 at Citysearch
Our family decided to grab a lunch during Sail Boston 2009, Daily Catch seemed to have smaller line then other places …
We joined a line that turned out to be just a line to get your name on the list. The hostess completely ignored the line and were more preoccupied with cleaning the tables. After about 20 minutes of being ignored and have not moved up a line even a bit (well not entirely true as some people have left the line) my wife went straight to her and succeeded in getting out name on the list. We were told that the wait is 30 minutes that actually turned out to be over an hour wait, but it is understandable on such a busy event. When we got to the table we had to wait 15 minutes for the waiter to arrive. The guy showed up with an attitude and aggravated. We started to place an order… to our surprise all we were looking to order was not available. For the calamari platter they did not have 3 out of 4 types of calamari. To my wife’s question what do they substitute the unavailable items with, we got even more aggravated response. We ended up leaving this place without being served. Wished we read reviews before going there. Overall experience was terrible. Terrible service. Do not go there! Don’t waist your money!
- Pros: location
- Cons: service, food, staff
Food not as good as the one at North End
by sparrowwithabell at Citysearch
The ambience of this new location is nicer and bigger. However, the service was very slow. The black pasta came out wasn't really al denta, a bit hard. The monkfish masala was also not good, the one at North End so much better. But, the lobster fra diavolo was very good though, the portion was larger than that at North End. More lobster meat.
Overall, I prefer to go back to North End.
- Pros: Ambience, spacious
- Cons: Slow, food not as good as the Daily Catch at North End
Awesome seafood
by Celts at Citysearch
The daily catch is one of the best places in boston for seafood. I have been to this location and the north end location. I love the one in the north end because its tiny, you always get a good meal from a spot this small. I had the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and I had fish for dinner. Both were excellent. I would highly recommend the daily catch for seafood.
- Pros: seafood, service
- Cons: non
absolutely TERRIBLE!

Had a corporate function here because of the ideal location and the food was tasty. However, when our party arrived at the event, tables & bars weren't even set-up yet. Once they were ready, we waited almost 2 hours before the buffet was ready. About 50 people had been served when the servers ran out of food! They went back in the ktichen to continue cooking. Now 2/3 of our party has yet to eat. They eventually came out with more food but we were now being served random food items that were NOT in the contractual agreement. Our busses bringing us back to our company were awaiting and we ended up leaving a half hour late with about 1/3 of our employees leaving hungry. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone booking a corporate event. Very poor service. We spent a significant amount of money at this event and experienced very rude and unprofessional service. I have never experienced customer service this poor. I'm surprised they are still in business.
Most expensive caesar salad in town for lunch.....
by toddbeal23 at Citysearch
We went there for lunch and they charge their caesar salad for $13 with with only 3 small shrimps.
We asked the manager why they cutdown the shrimps to 3 ( it used to be at least 5 shrimps) - he said they just changed their summer menu....
He even suggested that a regular shrimp cocktail is $2.50 a piece and its reasonable priced for their 3 shrimps caesar salad...Wow!!
- Pros: plenty of tables to choose, but I guess nobody goes there anymore...
- Cons: very expensive place for lunch....
