Classic greasy spoon. Service can be slow, it's true. But the food is good (the breakfast sandwiches are Teh Yum--ask to have your bagel grilled) and consistent, and the atmosphere is classic. Be prepared for a wait on weekend mornings.

HORRIBLE!. My experience at the Town Diner was HORRID!!

We've been going there for years but they changed hands recently like over the spring or summer (2008). Don't know exactly. The old owners and waitstaff were really nice (we even knew them by name!) but the new ones are a bunch of meanies!

We sat down in a booth and started playing Crazy 8 which is what we always did. The old waitstaff used to come over and ask what we're playing and if they could play too! Well yesterday, we got our coffee and ordered our breakfast and then a really mean lady (owner?) came over to the table and said "YOU CAN'T PLAY THAT HERE!". We asked why not and she couldn't give us an answer. She just walked away. My friend and I just looked at each other and were like what was her problem. Then she comes over again and says "I SAID YOU CAN'T PLAY THAT HERE!" And we asked why not again and she could not give us a reason. And she banged on the table and kept yelling that we could not play that here. So we threw $2 on the table for the drinks and we walked out.

We had been going to this diner for years and never had a problem until now. This a casual, greasy spoon diner NOT the Four Seasons. I don't see what the problem is with playing an innocent game of cards while waiting for our food to come.
