good facials, great/affordable mani/pedis. Their quickie menu of inexpensive versions of spa services is really great. I've gotten some great/fast mani/pedis here without appointments. Their facials are also good but I'd make an appt to do a full facial. It's worth it.…
I loved the whole experience. From the moment I entered this salon I felt comfortable. This is a difficult feat on Newbury, considering everyone thinks they are better then everyone else. My stylist was very nice and talked to me as if we had known eachother for years. Usually when I go to a salon, it's mildly uncomfortable talking to a stylist about the weather...or shampoo..or..whatever else is going on. She was genuinely nice, and it definately helped me feel at ease as a first timer here. She asked me what products I used and some background info on my hair, then explained what she would use for my specific hair type. The shampoo was done personally by her, which is rare at salons, usually they hand you over to someone else for shampooing. She cut my hair to my exact specifications. I asked about color, and she told me what she thought would be best for my face regarding color, if i decided to come back at a later date. I was amazed that she actually told me NOT to color my hair in the summer, as it is better to do in the winter, because your hair sees less sun. Most stylists would have just made you schedule an appointment so you'd spend more money. My hair looked great, felt healthy, and she styled it with a blowdryer and straightening iron afterwards. I think I found my new salon, I plan to be a regular.…
Re: Bad Customer Service.
Regarding the posting that G Spa requires a $100 credit card deposit:
There must have been a misunderstanding regarding our cancellation policy. G Spa does not charge a deposit to book appointments. We do however, ask for a credit card number at the time of scheduling to secure appointments against our 24 hour cancellation policy.
We hope this helps to clear up any confusion. Please call us if you have any questions.…
Bad Customer Service. Can't believe they are requiring a credit card deposit for 100.00 to make an appointment for all services. Bad policy will result in losing customers...
Blah...and dingy. I went for the pedicure with all the upgrades. It was fine, but nothing special. What really threw me about the place is that it's decorated with a lot of white, especially the pedicure area; but the white has become dirty and dingy....something I would never expect of a place like this. I was asked what I thought about my visit as I was leaving, but the woman who had given me the pedicure was two feet away, so there wasn't opportunity to really say anything (she was very nice, but for the $50 pedicure, I could have gotten a comparable pedicure plus a manicure from a cheapo place) . You're paying for name, location, atmosphere, but I'd like to see things cleaned up so I actually feel like I'm paying for those things and they're putting some of the money to upkeep.…
