“They also have private parties on the weekends and the atmosphere is pretty cool.”
“The only spot in Boston that you can honestly have a meal, enjoy a few cocktails and dance without the pressure of a night club.”
“Great food and atmosphere”
Professionals not welcome, my food never came.. This is the worst restaurant in Boston!!! I went there with friends after work at around 7 PM for drinks and appetizers on September 4, 2009. At 9:30 PM, prior to us receiving our food, bill etc... The bouncer came over and politely told us that we had to leave by 10 PM because we wore jeans and sneakers. Without notice, the restaurant was turning into a night club. Don't they know some prominent companies have a casual Friday’s policy in the summer? So after telling the manager about our concerns, he had the nerve to say that he did it to keep the certian people out of his restaurant after 10 PM. Yes the four of us are black professionals dressed in casual friday wear. Restaurants should not be allowed to do this without first posting a a big sign on the door warning consumers that the place you entered at 7 will become a night club a couple of hours later.
awesome time. Went to the Blue Wave on Congress St last night and had a BLAST! The food was awesome.....especially the Pizza! Drink were great....a really lively place.....might be the best after work place in Boston!!!
Most diverse crowd in Boston. Two years ago I moved from New York to Boston with my current company. For months I searched for a location in Boston that had a loungy, casual feel without being too over the top or stuffy as most places in Boston. The Blue Wave or "The Wave" as Its known to many is a very diverse spot that reminds me of the New York city life. Where you fit in no matter where you're from. The only spot in Boston that you can honestly have a meal, enjoy a few cocktails and dance without the pressure of a night club.
Very disappointed.... I went on a Saturday night which was listed as hip-hop night, however they were playing horrendous 80's music with a few recent pop songs thrown in. It was a decidedly older crowd and thank god no cover, because we couldn'y bear to stay any longer than one drink. I had heard good things, im very disappointed....
Out-of-the-way destination spot lures a diverse crowd with agreeably upscale atmosphere and musical diversions..
The Scene
Nestled along an industrial strip on the far side of Congress Street, Blue Wave beckons diners and drinkers to the untamed environs of Fort Point Channel. Blue-tinged lighting, beige decor and stone-tiled floors make for a muted palette in the dining room, which is separated from the spacious bar area by a gently curved wooden wall. This makes for an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere, and a popular lunch spot for Financial District suits.
The Draw
The vibe here is ever-changing: Daytime brings a consistent dining crowd drawn to the classic American menu. As evening approaches, nine-to-fivers make the trek for worth-the-trip burgers and steak tips. After dark, live jazz, cover bands, and DJs spinning hip-hop hits draw casual, twenty-something revelers. All of these crowds enjoy martinis like the signature Blue Wave, a tropical blue concoction made with Skyy vodka, tropical fruit flavors and sour mix.
