Misono is a family-owned Sushi, Japanese and Korean restaurant conveniently located on VFW Parkway in Chestnut Hill. We have been serving our loyal customers for almost a decade.

Our sushi is well known for being the freshest and most reasonably priced in the greater Boston region. We accept nothing but the best when it comes to anything from our nigiri to our very creative Sushi Specials like the Hurricane and Dynamite rolls - customer favorties!

In addition, our Japanese and Korean dishes are very authentic and portions are large. Our tasty and vast appetizers compliment your meal and will leave you wanting more.

The mangement and staff at Misono invite you to come and enjoy your next lunch, dinner, or take-out with us. We are very child friendly and know that they will enjoy our beautiful fish pond! We look forward to serving you soon!

Editorial Review for Misono – by Eric Grossman

The Scene
Area couples skip nearby chain restaurant offerings and head to an unremarkable strip mall for fresh Japanese and Korean fare. Misono's dining room is awash in soft colors and usually provides an unassuming locale that's perfect for a quiet conversation. Pleasant servers ably explain the menu's more foreign items (Korean stir-fries, unique sushi offerings). Solo diners are well-served to grab a stool at the diminutive sushi bar and watch expert chefs slice away.

The Food
Misono's sushi, unquestionably fresh and reasonably priced, runs the gamut from the familiar to the offbeat. After starting with a refreshing California roll or spicy lobster maki, patrons often move right to lightly fried tempura or savory teriyaki dinners (served with rice and a light salad). Adventurous types are rewarded with bowls of Hwe Dup Bab, a spicy combo of noodles, rice and chunks of raw fish.

The food was good but the service was mediocre. The girl that waited on my table was unfriendly and never smiled once. I decided to leave just over 10 % percent gratuity because I felt that was all she deserved for the service she provided. The service was not good enough for me to leave her more. After I walked out of the restaurant, she came chasing me down the street. She says that she deserved more tip and that I am requested to leave her more at least 15 % and that she only gets paid $ 2. + an hour. I could not believe the audacity she had to request from me how much I should leave for a tip. I believe you have to work for a good tip and she certainly did not. I hope the manager of this establishments reads this...
