Indian food in the DOT. My husband and I have been living in the area for over a year and we just discovered this hidden jem of a restaurant! OH MY GOSH! Shanti is wonderful! I was never an Indian food eater and now I have to go to Shanti once a month to get my fix. Our first time there we had take out and last night was our first time sitting down. It was Valentines Day so the place was mobbed. We had a reservation and had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. But once we sat down we had great service. I highly recommend a visit!

Great Food but a little pricey. Recently I have started trying Indian food. Shanti has great ambiance and great food. I would definately recommend this restaurant.

I love the shanti. One of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. Unbelievable food and great service. Try the vegetable biryani. Good daily specials as well.

Diamond in the Rough. The restuarant seems to have transcended from the Back Bay into the middle of Dorchester from the incredible detailed facade as well as the great tasting, authentic Indian cuisine. The menu is extensive, except among the appitizers, and the waitstaff is friendly and knowledgable. The meal itself is incredibly affordable (2 glasses of wine, app, 2 entrees sub $60) yet the tastes didn't reflect it. A definate find for those living south of the city! We went on a Sunday evening and there was virtually no one there, I'm hoping it was due to the day, for their sake. if not, many are missing out!
