best salon ever. i've been going there a few times a year. Its the only salon that i have ever enjoyed going to and im always leaving very happy with my new haircut... the service is great! and they are amazing stylists…
Best salon I've been to in awhile. I normally go to my local hair salon, which costs in total 23, tip included. I always get the same haircut: long with angles but I was getting tired of the same 10 year old haircut. I wanted side-swept bangs but many hairstylists told me I couldn't get it due to my callic (sp) or my natural part, which is in the middle. But coming to Le Gala was an amazing experience. I have thin, asian hair and I consulted with who I believe is the manager or owner of the store about my hairstyle and she was honest, saying due to my part, it's not possible to get the hairstyle that I wanted. She could've been like others and lied and tried, which could've ended up butchered just to make money. So she along with another stylist worked on a new style that included a different version of mine. The place is soooo pretty and chic and very modern, something right from Tokyo. The staff is friendly, and they pamper you with a scalp massage. Shampoo, wash, blowdry and cut, and massage all comes out to $30. There is an LCD screen attached to each mirror and the mirror is full length, unlike the standard chest-up mirrors. They offer you a drink from tea, water, soda or juice. I came in at 5 and though it was close to closing time, they didn't rush. My hairdresser, Sam, was amazing. It was hard sometimes since he had broken english with a heavy accent but he truly listened, understood, and catered to my wishes for my haircut, always asking me before he did something or threw out ideas before going through with them. And he made the impossible possible. They gave me pointers on how to work my bangs and how to form my new part realistically [6 months] and I LOVE my new haircut. Professional, clean, friendly, attentitive...I can't say enough good things about this place. I'm def. going there again!…
Great Staff, Exceptional and Affordable Haircuts and Straightening Here. In the 12 years that I have been in the Boston area, I have tried many salons and the friendly staff and cutting/straightening services at this salon has kept me coming back for over 4 years. I have very thick, wavy Asian hair and finally someone in Boston knows how to take care of my hair so that I can easily manage it when I go back home. The staff really pampers you when you are there also with the scalp massages and several people working with flat irons to straighten my hair so that you can get out of there quicker. They do an excellent Japanese straight perm here and it's actually affordable compared to other places. And, they know how to properly thin my hair out so it doesn't look like a fro when I go home and wash it and there's low maintenance to maintain a great look.…
Need to wear a hat. I had a haircut a while ago. It was completely different than what I asked in the picture. I asked for a layer in a V shape but she cut my hair like a upside down L shape. The 2 sides were short and straight. They couldn't rectify my haircut when it's was done because it was too short on the sides. My tears always come down. It would take me at least a year to get back to the style that I want again. I would of cut better than she does although I'm not a hair dresser. I couldn't even tie up my hair to cover up because it was too short unless I use barbie pins(many of them). It totally agree with the previouse reviewer. Never ever go back again. I am still very upset at my haircut.…
Never Again. I asked for a trim (even specified 1 in. as a trim) and got a mullet looking haircut (top shorter and the bottom longer than needed.) Plus, the haircut did not suit my hair type which is a thick, wavy Asian hair. I'd have to blow dry it straight in order for the cut not to look so weird. I'd never come back.…
