Amazing Happy Hour. When I think of summer in Boston one place that definitely comes to mind is McCormick and Schmicks in Faneuil Hall. They have tons of tables outdoors so you can multitask by basking in the sun, sipping on a cold beer and people watching. Their Happy Hour specials Monday - Friday make you want to scream with end of the work day happiness!

After you power down, power up at McCormicks with $2.95 fantastic burger and even more fantastic fries (all for $2.95 - you can't even feel bad about skipping the gym cause it's such a good deal!) Wash it all down with the perfection of a cold Sam Summer because they are back and better than ever.

When you ask yourself what is going to make your summer bomb dot com? Think of this equation, McCormick and Schmicks + cheap burgers + cold, refreshing Sam Summers = happiness.

AMAZING !. This is the Best restaurant for clams especially, but all seafood. The chefs are amazing and so are the other staff. This is a place where people are treated as family and they always do right by the customer, going out of their way to accommodate special tastes, diets, requests, anything!! Love it!!

The review from a "former employee" listed above is clearly an attempt to get back at McCormick's for some reason. My husband and I and friends have eaten here very often over the past 2 years. . The bathroom is spotless. There is no smell of cleaning fluid or vermins. Our food has NEVER come burnt or cold. In fact I am extremely picky and known by my friends to send food back to the kitchen in other restaurants for various reasons and have never done that here. These things are simply made up. Obviously this person is very mad and there may be legitimate politics going on that may warrant it. But that does not warrant trashing a great restaurant with lies. Obviously there weren't legitimate bad things to writie about so they had to make stuff up!

Not worth it.. I'd like to preface this by saying that I am a former employee of McCormick's. That might make this review more or less valuable to you, but that's your choice.

Believe it or not, the food is actually good. The chefs are really talented and do good work (and believe it or not, I was not a chef). The problem is that the service is so bad that it either arrives cold or burnt to a crisp.

Why does such good food end up so bad? In my time there I have seen employees fall asleep in a back room, I have seen servers leave their tables to go have a cigarette, I have seen servers pick food off the ground and put it back on the plate, I have seen servers take sips of people's beers, I have seen servers get into a fight - a fist fight - in front of customers, and I have seen employees shoot heroine in the bathroom. It's obvious that the work environment is beyond out of control.

Aside from the chaotic employee situation, there is a general lack of respect shown both to other employees and to customers. There has been, and will always be, a vermin problem at McCormick's. Every night you can catch the critters running back and forth across the first floor dining room. If a customer happens to spot one, they are rewarded with a seat change and a free dessert. Otherwise, nothing else is done. Nothing.

The host staff is charged with cleaning the bathrooms. They get to this about once a night, maybe. The general cleaning theory is to slosh a bucket of extremely potent cleaning solution around the floor at night, which produces a smell that penetrates the nearby dining rooms. The downstairs dining room especially smells like cleaning solution and restaurant grime. Customers often complain about the less than sanitary conditions. Again, no changes are made.

There are plenty of seafood places in Boston and I would recommend that you put McCormick's last on your list. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

Clubby corporate restaurant draws seafood lovers with fresh daily catches and posh atmosphere.. In Short
Upscale and sophisticated, this chain features art deco-inspired trappings such as dark wood, shiny brass and beveled glass. Servers clad in black and white weave through cocktailing couples and businessmen at the bar. The classic American, seasonally inspired seafood menu changes daily; specialties include starters of Dungeness crab cakes and oysters on the half shell, plus entrees like cedar plank-roasted salmon, sauteed lobster with scallops and rock shrimp, and seared yellowfin tuna with wasabi, soy and ginger.

ICK. The decor of the restaurant does not come off as "old school class" as it seems they are going for. Instead, it just feels old. Was supposed to eat here with a date, went in, felt like we should have come for the early bird special, and left. Smells like cleaning supplies, but doesn't look clean. Won't go back there. Ever.

Fresh Fresh Seafood, but not much else. The seafood was very fresh, and I loved that, but flavor-wise it wasn't anything special. For the price and the name I was expecting a lot, but I think I have had better flavors at Legal Sea Food haha.

Party of. Ahhh....McCormick & Schmick's. First let me start off by saying that I have not only been a customer of restaurants in general for many year but have also been working in the industry for over 10 of these years. Saturday night dinner for 6 turned into dinner for "seven" when our unexpected friend "Mr. Cockroche" decided to join our table just before entrees were served. Employees of the restaurant responded with a role of the eyes at our surprise and responded by saying "welcome to McCormick's, now you have had the full experience". When the General Manager arrived he was not apologetic AT ALL and did not seem surprised by what had happened. I have seen full meals "comp'd" for FAR LESS in this industry and extreme measures take by General Managers in an attempt to apologize for a situation such as this. NOTHING was done to compensate us for our meal. I have to say from a consumers perspective not only will I never eat at this establishment or any other of it's other locations but I will certainly will not recommend it to anyone I know or don't know for that matter. Someone should teach the people running this restaurant that an apology goes along way!!!!! By way of other stats, the service left much to be desired and I am not sure how anything tastes good when you have completely lost your appetite. All in all, there are PLENTY of other places in the city of Boston where you can have a seafood dinner and for a couple of more dollars a plate I think that it is worth dining outside the "cheap seats"!!!!!

Excellent seafood, gentle on your wallet!. Okay do NOT COME HERE if you are getting a steak (salty). We did, then we didn't come back to re-try for over one year. Big Mistake! We have since been back at least once a month. The seafood is TERRIFIC, fresh, and really reasonably priced. Desserts were also pretty amazing -just as they looked. The service was a little slow, but I think it's because the restaurant is so crowded, the poor servers are really overworked. Still, I have been to OTHER M&S branches (VA, GA) and they could be a little more CHARMING and attentive. Ahhhh, but I'd still return (and have!) for the food!
