Tips for Longhorn Steakhouse

National chain rustles up rib eyes, T-bones and fillets in a kid-friendly, Lone Star-inspired setting.. In Short
One of the country's most successful steakhouse empires attracts a casual crowd with huge, reasonably priced steak dinners and a tempered Texan milieu (country music and imposing cattle busts). Wise diners turn off their internal calorie counters, as many menu items arrive fried, covered in cheese, or both. A typically rich meal starts with cheese fries, followed by a blue cheese-crusted fillet. Fried cheesecake ends the night on a note of Texas-sized decadence.

Great Place. I have been there several times now usually with my boyfriend. We both really enjoy this restaurant. The drinks are fabulous and actually pretty cheap. The food has always been really good. The music is great (if you like country). The staff could actually tone it down a bit sometimes. Its right off the T and by the movie theater which is huge plus.

Value, and it's on the T. The best value steak that you can get to on the T. Similar to Outback, you'll find mostly college students here for the bang for the buck. Food is good, portions are big, you get bread and salad with all steaks. Sure, they're not the most quality cuts, but for $15 do you expect that?

Tips: The prime rib is excellent AND tender.

They have call ahead seating that actually works great, and avoids the hour plus waits on weekend nights.

Great Place, Pushy Wait Staff. I have been going to Longhorn with my girlfriend since it opened up in the Landmark center. Great atmosphere, convenient location and good straight forward food. The only thing that truly annoys me about this place is the pushy wait staff, who consistently insist on asking if you have ever been there before (like it's some crazy different type of place) and showing us specials with pictures even when we ask them not too. They treat us like low-class, dumb Americans and seem stunned when there annoyingly chipper, pushy, used-car-salesman approach bothers people. Manager - retrain your people, you are ruining what could be just a relaxing atmosphere!

Menu can be hit or miss, but hits are good.. I've been to this Longhorn 3 times, and had 2 good experiences and one bad, all related to the food. The cheeseburgers are good if you want to hit them up before a Sox game. The Texas Cheese Fries are awful because they have a punguent chili all over them. The Texas Tonion deep fried onion appetizer is delicious. The steaks really depend on the quality of the cut you get, which can be hit or miss, and if the cook on duty will actually cook it the way you ask. I prefer very rare steaks, and I've ordered rare that came out just a little pink in the middle. The Caesar salad is pretty lousy. The last time I went, I had a T-Bone that was seasoned and cooked really well. As they say, your milage may vary.

Great Experience. I have eaten here a few times and it has been excellent every time. Great food at a good value, and the beer is nice and cold. Can't go wrong.
