With more parking, better sightlines and more than twice as many bathrooms and concession stands as its predecessor (Foxboro Stadium), Gillette Stadium should please the most
discriminating sports fans and concert-goers. Attendees will notice a huge difference in sound quality, as Foxboro's lone mega-speaker has been replaced with a $12 million, 2,000-speaker sound system. The stadium promises to be family-friendly as well, with a picnic area and numerous family bathrooms. All 68,000-plus seats face the 50-yard line and have armrests, backs and cup holders.
The Experience
First-time visitors will be impressed by the sheer size of the complex; at 17 acres, it's more than three times the size of the now-demolished Foxboro Stadium.
