In Short – The Bell in Hand may date back to the 1795, but it seems to be stuck in the 90s. Testosterone-fueled youngsters shout on the local teams to victory while groups of girls pick out who's cute and sip sweet martinis. A handful of bouncers, amped on Red Bull and wary of the many meatheads present, keep the peace (albeit barely). Nondescript bar food, fried and carbo-licious, also helps slow the crowd down. The same can't be said for the local bands who churn out wobbly versions of "Pour Some Sugar on Me," much to the crowd's delight.

Tusday Nights at the Bell are a great time!

by ornate

I have been going to the Bell in Hand for karaoke for a while now. I always have a great time. The song selection is superb. There must be over 50,000 karaoke songs to choose from. The stage is great with bright lights and the song words projected on a screen behind you. The karaoke DJ is very friendly and professional. He has a great sound system. You can hear your self sing unlike other venues I have sang at.

I think the Bell In Hand is the best spot to be whether you sing or not on a Tuesday Night.

  • Pros: The stage
  • Cons: The large crowd wait time

The Details on Bell In Hand Tavern

Know Before You Go:

After a few pints with a large group, be careful not to over-tip: Servers automatically add an 18 percent gratuity for parties of eight or more.

The Extras:

Ironically, the ancient tavern has one of the most modern jukeboxes; its Internet connection puts 100,000 songs at your fingertips. But watch the clock: It shuts off at last call, and you'll lose your songs and your money.
