Tips for Junction

Strikes a balance between old-school pub and party depot. While hardly as old as the grizzled neighborhood, this South Boston stalwart gives off the impression of being well-worn and well-loved. It’s little wonder that it’s routinely packed by 8pm, since the Junction’s got something for everyone. Gather friends, nab a table (preferably one by the fireplace) and catch up over a heaping plate of no-frills, hearty pub grub--or perch at the bar where you can relish drinking quotes scribbled on blackboards overhead and order from the 60-bottle-strong beer list. On game nights, the local team is always broadcast on six flatscreen televisions scattered throughout the bar, regardless of whether a band is there to liven up the night or not.

noclass. I just moved to south boston about a month ago. I figured it would be good to get in touch with my irish roots, so i planned on being a miserable drunk in a happy place. Lots of beer to choose from - mine was kind of warm! i think this place has great potential if they would attract more quality people. I went with my non-caucasian friends and i must say that i haven't witnessed/been a victim of racism in a long time until we showed up here. this was the first and last time I go to this place. we now go to more upper class type bars that are not found in this neighborhood. This place is not for me, but it might be good enough for you. Good luck!!!

yuck!. sticky tables, greasy menus! food is terrible unless you're absolutely starving and not sober enough to tell the difference. terrible service. we had to find our own menus and get our own food and drinks. very uncivilized staff- but I guess this is typical in this neighborhood. One star - since its good'nuff for the locals.

This is the best bar in Southie!!. The Junction is a great place! It has a fantastic vibe to it so you can relax and have a good time. There is none of the knucklehead/meat market element you see at other bars in the neighborhood. Great beer selection, live music 4 nights a week, and awesome burgers and pub food. The service is friendly and down-to-earth. They have plenty of plasmas so you can catch the games. It's just a great neighborhood bar!
