Editorial Review for Tommy Doyle's Irish Pub – by Citysearch Staff
In Short
Thanks to its location in the One Kendall Square courtyard, this comfortable restaurant attracts area tecchies for lunch and after-work drinks. The bar area hosts live music (most weekends), and friendly waitresses deliver a steady stream of Guinness. Come summertime, open tables on the breezy outdoor patio can be hard to come by. Popular menu items include "ploughman's" potato skins (melted cheddar, smoked bacon and sharp green onions), juicy beef burgers and sizzling fajita platters.

Insider Tips
When to GoWhile not technically a sports bar (it has two average-sized TVs), this is one of the few area hangouts that reliably broadcasts British soccer matches.
The ExtrasFor a simple date, Kendall Square-style, combine dinner here with a foreign film at the nearby Kendall Square cinema.

I used to go to this place often- it had great bartenders and the waitstaff were pretty good- unfortunately, the place has started to go downhill-noticed almost all the waistaff i knew have now left, never a good sign...also, this site wont let me post website addresses, but, there was an article online today from the cambridge chronicle about an unsightly insect found in this place in a persons food, amoungst numerous other health code violations..needless to say, i think i may start heading elsewhere to grab drinks after work,

So, after reading the obviously self-written Tommy Doyle's posts on the Harvard Square location, I checked out the location closer to my job. And imagine what I found- the same posts. TD's managers - let the customers do the talking! That being said, I often frequent the Kendall Square location with my coworkers and have pretty much a swell time each time. My favorite waitresses are Katie and Vinti. I had Jen once - she was pretty much horrible and abrasive. Are you that hard-strapped for waitresses? And... do you really charge $2 for BREAD!? Jen does. I could buy a whole loaf for half that. Ok I'll stop now...
Pros: yummy food, cheese
Cons: I won't mention her name again, but... see above.
