Kings

Bowling and beyond

This is not your father's bowling alley. Kings is bowling for the new millennium. Sixteen AMF lanes, with state of art graphics; names can be programmed either at the console or from our reception desk. Scoring is automatic.

Our experienced bowling techs are always on hand to answer any questions and will gladly give bowling tips when asked. Shoes are available in all sizes from kids 9 to adult 17. Balls are available in all weights to suit your game. Full service for food and beverage is available on the lanes.

Our lanes are the ideal place for a first date, night out with friends or your next corporate gathering. If your friends don't believe you bowled 300, scores can be printed and taken with you.

Editorial Review for Kings – by Eric Grossman

The Scene
Located in the former Loews Cheri cinema, this sprawling subterranean hangout offers various activities to a diverse clientele. By day, an all-ages crowd relaxes while enjoying games of 10-pin bowling. Come nightfall, the scene heats up as the kids go home and the socialites arrive, bringing with them lengthy waits for open tables and lanes. Friendly servers do their best not to interfere with any of the action.

The Draw
Kings' calling card is bowling, spread out over 16 regulation-sized lanes. Pricey shoe rental and game fees mean the fun doesn't come cheap, but never will you bowl in such a stylish, futuristic setting (computerized consoles enable players to track scores). To pass the time, those waiting for a lane play video games or dine in the retro Kings Restaurant (think meat loaf and mai tais).

Insider Tips

Save Money

Ladies bowl free on Tuesdays after 8pm, while Mondays are Industry Nights (starting at 9pm, bring a business card or pay stub to prove your connection to the hospitality industry and you'll enjoy free bowling).

When to Go

Karaoke starts at 10pm on Thursdays, with weekly prizes and giveaways. DJs spin top-40 and dance tunes on Fridays, starting at 9pm.

Parking

Finding a spot can be a dicey proposition: Spring for the validated parking ($5 after 4pm) in the lot next door.

The Extras

If you're looking to bowl in quieter environs, hang out in the walled-off Kingpin Room, removed from the bustle of the main lanes and pool hall.

I am a regular at Kings. I live and work down the street and go in at least 2 times a week with my co-workers after work. They have so much to offer. The best is the lounge. The cocktails are 1st rate. We go to Trivia almost every week on Tuesdays and Bowl after. Everyone is very nice that works there and I always see the same staff and they now know me by name. I never post reviews but had to post about Kings. Everyone thinks of it just as a bowling alley- Not the case. The food, service and activities they offer make it a cool place to hang out. Unlike most bars in the back bay- it is very clean and well maintained. Kings is #1. Keep up the great work!

I have been to Kings several times in the past 6 months. With the option of bowling, playing pool, or just having a few drinks with friends, you can't go wrong. The food there is great as well. During the week there are Karaoke, Open Mic and Triva nights. If you work at a bar like I do, Monday is the night to go if you can because if you work in the industry you can bowl and play pool for free. The thing about Kings that stands out over a lot of other places is how friendly everyone is there. The security at the door say Hello every time we come in and say goodbye when we leave. The waitresses are always around and attentive, the bartenders move quickly and even the workers at the front desk are outgoing and friendly. Working at a bar myself, I can appreciate how the people at Kings are so friendly. Its nice to see a place where the people really look like they are enjoying their job, and genuinely seem that they care about you as a customer no matter what the situation.
