“Instead of ignoring my comments and giving the same overstyled, early 90's Jennifer Aniston 'do every other stylist in Boston likes to dish out - he gave me a sexy new cut that works with my hair texture and I can easily style myself.”

“thought that the prices were very reasonable and the services far beyone my expectations.”
“Jill is absoutely great- she has quick hands and uses hard wax, which is a lot less painful than European wax that most estheticians use.”
Great salon!. I have been going to Rhonda at Joi for a year and love her cuts and color recommendations. Every stylist I had ever been to tried to straighten my wavey hair and go against it's curl. Rhonda gave me a cut that let the curl out and in a very low key way recommended products that worked, I have been getting rave compliments ever since. Even my mother made a comment about not realizing how beautiful and curly my natural hair was. Very highly recommended.
Love the hair.
I have been going to Joi Salon for around 4 months now, and have always been very pleased.
The blond color I just received is fantastic, and the cut is perfect. The stylists at Joi listens, and pays well attention to what you want, as well as what looks the best. Jopino is my stylist, and I can recommend him to anyone. I also receive wax treatments from Liz, and my eyebrows have never looked better. Even though this is a trendy salon and spa, all staff are friendly and makes you feel very comfortable.
Quaint North End escape specializes in an organic approach to beauty and well-being..
The Scene
At first glance, this small space appears to be strictly a hair salon. White marble floors and light brown wood and glass shelves lend the space an atmosphere of streamlined cleanliness. Inside bright, kiwi-colored walls and floor-to-ceiling glass, women of all ages sit with their hair in foils or receiving trims as they chat with young, hip hairdressers. The main hint that there's more than just hair here? A single door leading to the spa's treatment rooms, from which patrons emerge thoroughly spoiled.
The Services
Once guests enter one of the simple, intimate treatment rooms, they're placed in the hands of attentive specialists sensitive to their individual needs. Body treatments include body polish, salt glow, rosemary mint wrap and seaweed body masque, to name a few. Massage techniques include Swedish, deep tissue and hot stone.
Great Haircut!. Finally, after trying a lot of Newbury St. salons and walking out with a helmet head, I decided to try this salon close to my home. It was a great experience beginning to end. Jensy was my stylist - and he was great. Instead of ignoring my comments and giving the same overstyled, early 90's Jennifer Aniston 'do every other stylist in Boston likes to dish out - he gave me a sexy new cut that works with my hair texture and I can easily style myself. Also, instead of hard-selling me on products, like a lot of stylists in the Boston area, he simply explained what he was using and how it compared to some of the products I already owned. I decided to buy one of the items, but there was absolutely no pressure. The cut and style was $50. Great value. I'm definitely going back.
Pampering. I went to Joi Salon to get a facial and leg and brow wax. My appointment was with Liz, who turned out to be marvelous. Along with the rest of the staff Liz was professional and friendly. She worked quickly and took extra care to make sure I was comfortable and relaxed. The facilities were very clean and the procedures were seamless. I left with my face feeling rejuvenated and my eyebrows looked immaculate. I have already made plans to come back and highly recommend this place to my friends.
I love this place!.
I was worried when I moved to Boston that I would never be able to replace my stylist at the Aveda salon I went to in Michigan. I chose Joi because it's a block away from my apartment, and after a year of stalling, I realized I was going to HAVE to take the plunge and get my hair cut.
I loved it! The place was great; people were super nice and my hair cut was actually better than I could have ever expected. Jenny Miller (the girl that I saw) did exactly what I asked for, gave me great recommendations, and made the experience totally comfortable. I can't wait to go back to get it colored and cut again (and try one of their spa services).
User review by madelyngrey. I first went to Joi Salon on reccomendation from a friend after being compelety overcharged and over blahed on Newbury Street. Stepping into the Salon is aways like going to a freinds house the staff remembers your name and details about your life. Teh hair cuts are wonderful and the colour is always fantastic. I've never in the two years since had a single problem with either...and the stylists won't let you leave if they don't like it either.....The Spa which is seperate from the slaon is like entering a retreat where all your problems melt away at the door. The services are excellent from the mind numbing massages to the customized facials...
new salon, worth trying. At a friend's recommendation, I tried this new salon. The staff is very nice and down to earth and I was very pleased with my cut and color. 8 weeks later - I still am. I also know others who have gone and were equally pleased.
