Best place - great service, clean and accommodating. Moved from NY - tried 2 other places - more expensive ones including in Newbury st. Lori at Joi salon is simply the best. Professional and knows her job - She performed where others failed. Quick and caring.

Joi is the best.... I had just moved to the boston area and was extremely nervous about trying a new person to cut my hair. After long consideration I finally decided to take the plunge and lucked out with edna... she took the time to listen to what I wanted and suggested the right products for my hair. I was so happy with the results I booked my next appointment...

Great place for a hair cut and wax. Kelyn gives an outstanding haircut and never tries to talk you into anything. Over time she gets to know what you like, what works with your hair and I have always left thrilled.

No need to get into detail about waxing- bottom line is that Liz is the BEST in Boston, hands down.

Best Brazilian Wax in Boston. If you are looking for the best brazilian wax in Boston look no further! Liz at Joi Salon is the best.

I have been looking for a long time and been to many different places. This time my hair was not even long enough but some how Liz managed to get it all out. She made me feel very comfortable and to top things off it was the quickest and the least painful Brazilian I have ever gotten! and I have had MANY from at least a dozen different ladies. Thank you Liz! you are truly the best!

Great for Blondes :). I love the Joi Salon! It is a great place. It is so convenient if you live in the North End. I hate going all the way to Newbury for a sub-par cut and color.

As far a highlights...Kellyn knows what she is doing. My hair looks natural and bright. The right mix of highlights and lowlights. And she is such a pleasure to be around! She also saved me from a bad cut a few months ago!!

I'll never stray from Joi. As long as Kellyn is there- I'm there!

Best Facial in Boston-see Jill!!. I was relatively new to the city, and needed to find a new brazilian waxer for myself. After doing a ton of research I came across reviews for Jill at Joi Salon. She was amazing-she totally put me at ease, she really relaxes you and is very nice. It was the quickest and most painless brazilian I've ever had! After seeing her a bunch more times I decided to treat myself to a facial with Jill. Let me tell you-it was the best facial I've ever had. The mood was set instantly with candles, lighting, music and the most comfortable bed ever. We discussed my skin and what I was interested in doing, but beyond that she wasn't chatty which I loved because I just wanted to relax!! Her massage was the best, and I think I may have fallen asleep. When I floated out of there an hour later, my skin was clean, soft and gleaming! I highly recommend both Jill and Joi Salon, everyon seems really nice and helpful...

Best bikini wax experience with Jill. Jill is absoutely great- she has quick hands and uses hard wax, which is a lot less painful than European wax that most estheticians use. This is hands-down the most painless brazillian waxing experience I've ever experienced. The only caveat is that Joi's location in the North End is inconvenient to get to by public transportation, and it's more expensive ($55) than places like Newbury Day Spa ($44), which offers competitive quality. But if pain is your most important factor, go see Jill at Newbury Day Spa.

My New Favorite Salon!. I tried this salon about a month ago after moving to the north end. I was delighted to find out that they are open on Sundays which is very convenient for me. I got several waxing services from Jill, who i HIGHLY recommend. She is so nice and puts you at instant ease, I will definitley be going back. My eyebrows have never looked better! I have also since gotten a manicure from Melissa, who I also highly recommend. She is very professional and friendly, I was impressed with her work. I thought that the prices were very reasonable and the services far beyone my expectations. I am now planning on getting my hair done there and am told the massages are to die for. Everyone in the salon seemed very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and not stuffy which is one thing i've experienced before and can ruin your entire experience. I have been raving to my friends who finally told me to shut up and write a review already!

Great Massage, Soothing Atmosphere. I made my first visit to Joi this week for a massage and had a wonderful experience. I was running late but the staff was very accomodating and didn't force me to cut my appointment short. The location was a little hard to find, but mostly because Google Maps showed me the wrong location for their address. Everything was great; the room, the atmosphere, and the service. I definitely recommend Joi!

Hidden Jewel. I have never walked out of a salon totally happy and satisfied with my hair. I can say today 12/10/06 is the first time I've been happy and satisfied with my hair. As I left my friend called me and asked me what I was doing. I told her I got a hair cut and I love it. Unfortunately, she just got her hair done (some where else NOT at Joi) and her experience was not as positive. I told her the next time she needs a cut she should give Joi Salon a try. I did and there are no regrets here! Besides the hair cut the staff was also "friendly" and "attentive". For example, my stylist Sarah she was funny and nice and gave me great advice on my hair and the receptionist I forget her name but she looks like Liv Tyler she was super nice as well. I thanked them for bring back the positive salon experience.
