Editorial Review for Q – by Leah Gourley
The Scene
Q is the antithesis of Faneuil Hall's legion of Irish pubs, despite being perched just upstairs from one--think gleaming chrome, black leather and swirling, multicolored lights. Sleek, shiny and modern, this lounge-y bar is perfect for those seeking a comfortable dance club in glossy environs. A fresh-faced staff, clad in anything tight and black, efficiently mans both the main bar and a smaller one toward the rear.
The Draw
Taking a cue from nearby Parris, Q offers the double whammy of a dance floor and a mammoth martini list. The bulk of the creative libations are on the sweeter side, like the French chocolate martini, tinged with a hint of orange and garnished with a Hershey's Kiss. However, purists should rest assured that Q offers a wide range of high-end vodkas and gins suitable for a classic, straight-up martini.

Insider Tips
Look GoodPatrons show up here in outfits as glitzy as the surroundings; plan your wardrobe accordingly to avoid sticking out.
The ExtrasBilliards cost only $2 per game, but there are only two tables. Belly up to the smaller bar in the back while you wait your turn.
Know Before You GoSeating is limited, so don't count on relaxing with your drink at a table unless you come early enough to snag a spot.

Don't read those other reviews. They were all written in 2003 and Club Q has new management, staff and an amazing DJ! If you love to dance this is the best place to go for hip hop, reggeton (however it's spelled) and even a little techno/house. I love the variety of music they play. The bartenders are all quick and very cute...guys and girls. And I love dancing on the platforms cause you have more room up there. And the back where the pool tables are is great for resting your feet and cooling off (body heat). I think it's Boston's best kept secret and it's a shame it doesn't get more promoting.
Pros: Cheap cover, Cheap drinks, Good service

i went in thinking the music would be great, decor, etc. the decor was good, new modern feel and look. but the drinks were awful. drinking there was almost like drinking at mohegan sun (watered-down), but i had to pay $6 a drink for crap. second, the music was actually cheesy techno. i like techno music, trance, etc., but this was crap. like remized versions of gloria estefan and the like. awful place. i will never go there again.,
