“Although it is missing some of the ambiance of some other places (no robes, no relaxation area to sit before and after my massage) the treatment was amazing.”
“The service was excellent, we all tried different things from massages, manicures, pedicures, facials, and makeup.”
“The staff is unbelievably rude and Grettacole is ridiculously over priced for their low quality services.”
Horrible Hair Experience!. Every single word in the reviews below is true--I should have read them before going to that place. I ended up with a catastrophic case of "mall hair"--I didn't even know they do such yellow and rough highlights anywhere any more these days... The hair dresser barely looked at my hair when I was trying to explain that I wanted natural tones, and now my beautiful brunette hair looks ugly yellow and orange--completely unnatural. I almost had to force her to listen to even a word I said before she was going to cut my hair, and the haircut itself took about 4-5 minutes. I was offered no magazines to look at while waiting for the color to set, nor did she offer me anything to drink. The reception staff was rude and unwelcoming. AN ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE!
Won't go back... Went recently for a pedicure/manicure. Small choice of colors, small choice of magazines, they didn't let you soak your feet at all -- started right in on the pedicure. The room is open to where people are getting their hair cut and on that day someone was having a permanent which was all you could smell. Also when I used the restroom their was no toilet paper and the rubbish was overflowing onto the floor. Would never go here again -- wasn't spa-like or relaxing at all.
Katerina is the best!. Katerina did a great job on my eyebrows! It lasts forever and she is so pleasant. I haven't been in for any other services but I won't go anywhere else for a wax. Thanks Katerina!!!
First Impressions are lasting-Nasty Receptionist.
I have attempted to see Katrina twice and each time the receptionist was more than rude and unaccomodating. I don't think I will try this place.
Once I went in and a worker had the worst skin ever! I was frightened especially since she did not seem aware of that fact.
Best of Boston? Really?. This place is a joke. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The service is horrible, I got an average haircut, and I paid double what I usually do. Don't believe the hype, it was an absolute waste of money.
Good, not great, facial. I got a decent facial from Grettacole, I'd recommend it in a bind, but it wasnt the best I've had. Still, it was one of the best I've had in Boston.
Great Eyebrows. Katarina did a great job on my eyebrows and it lasted about 3 weeks! It was not too painful and she gave me a great shape - no burns or sticky wax pieces
Overpriced, rude and unskilled!.
I moved to Boston and needed a place I could trust for all of my wedding preparation and wedding day hair and make-up. I had never had a facial or leg-waxing before in my life and was really looking forward to being pampered. I was treated like I wasn't good enough to be there and was given that fake attention whenever I questioned any service or price. I was told one price and was charged much, much more. Since when do highlights and a haircut cost over $300?? I was told the base price over the phone, but then they booked me with the so-called master stylist. I was burned by the overly hot wax which left temporary scarring on my legs. I was told that if I would have lied still, it wouldn't have happend. How could I have lied completely still when my legs are being burned?
On my wedding day, my group was 10 minutes late for our appointment because of unforseen circumstances (I'm sure this isn't a rare thing for a bride!) and I was lectured about being late. I mistakingly assumed that the stress of my event was the cause of my dissatisfaction and returned a couple months later for a haircut. I was again lectured about how difficult my wedding day was for this master stylist. It was obvious that she was looking for a bonus tip. I don't recommend this salon to anyone! The only thing that I was happy with was my facial.
I had my haircut the next time somewhere else and without mentioning it, the hairdresser said she was shocked at my haircut. She actually said that it looked as if the last hairdresser had no training whatsoever.
Waxing at Grettacole. I just moved to boston and needed to get waxed before school started. I decided to go to Gretaccole because it was on the way to where I was going. They did a good job with my legs but they missed a couple of spots that I had to redo when I got home. I was very pleased with my eyebrows though.
Grettacole. Horrible! Do NOT go there. They told me one price over the phone for a haircut and then the price went up $20 afterwards. They charged me an additional $45 dollars for a "deep condition" treatment that I did NOT ask for, nor was asked if I wanted this service. The stylist was terrible and used thinning shears and ruined my hair. It was all uneven and looked awful. It was one of the worse haircuts I ever received. I went back to complain about being charged the $45 and they were so rude about it. They have no class and this place is a waste of money. Nobody knows what they are doing and they all have attitudes. You can get a better cut at supercuts. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
