The Scene – Deep in the bowels of the Copley Square Hotel lies the city's first self-described "nitery" (though it's more of an upscale lounge than a "nighttime eatery"). Saint's designers obviously had fun filling this turn-of-the-20th-century space with various stylish and futuristic accoutrements: opaque-glass bathroom doors, plasma TVs and for a nightlife spot, the Back Bay's first bed (for lounging only). Black-clad servers and bouncers have been known to exude a bit of attitude. – – The Draw – Three distinct areas feature chic environs and expensive food and…

Decent club experience for Boston

by Raina413

Boston is not known for their club scene, unfortunately and so we're given limited options. Saint overall is a marginal one, a safe choice if you want to avoid the college-age crowds. I went back in 2002 and recently revisited it for a b-day celebration. Everyone was buying me cosmos all night & we didn't leave the dance floor, which made the evening fly by and feel more like an "event" than a typical night out. That said - though I can't say I didn't have fun - I have a few complaints: Not enough places to sit and relax between dance sets, cramped dance area, drinks were so small you could down a Cosmo in 3 sips. And not that it's Saints fault but the crowd was a bit lame for some reason / just not very many happy people, i.e. not many people smiling or looking like they were having fun. In fact, one guy pushed me on the dance floor because he thought I bumped into him though I hadn't. If they're going to be that aggressive on the dance floor, I'd rather be in New York or Jersey.

  • Pros: fun if you're the birthday girl & everyone's buying u drinks
  • Cons: a bit cramped / not a fun crowd

trendy, upscale, fun

by jazz0392

if you like gypsy bar and estate, you will like saint. its very dark inside, but the staff was polite and the bartenders are very attentive. the crowd is 20s and 30s, and its a good place to dance, but very tough to have a conversation. lots of couches to lounge, and the drinks we had were strong. get there early to avoid a cover. if you like dive bars and cheaper places, then saint is not for you. overall, a fun time.

  • Pros: polite door staff, great bartenders, awesome dance music
  • Cons: cover charge - so get there early!

This place is lame

by lbo906

I refuse to go back to Saint and don't recommend that you go there either.

Cons: all of it !!

My roommate and I had RSVP'ed for a party and had to stand out side for about 45 minutes before we could get in. Who got in before us? A bunch of "regulars", cougars, and 50 year old looking men. (I'm not saying that they can't come out and party but if they got here 30 minutes after me, why should they be given priority? sheesh)

Inside: No one looked like they were having a good time! Why leave everyone on line outside, pretend that you "are at capacity" and then when people get inside it's a joke !

Music: Eh whatever, there were a few old school hits but they certainly didn't make up for the trash that they played at the end. They made it clear that they wanted everyone out by 2. Hmph.

Drinks: Sub-par is an understatement. Furthermore, it takes way too long to get a drink here. One waitress per bar? You're kidding. I am notoriously lightweight - I had a long island iced tea and a kamikaze shot .....I've never been more sober in my life. These drinks weren't cheap either !! Ugh

I told you in the title - this place is pretty bad.

Pros: My roomie and I pimped the system and only paid half the cover. Ha ! Take That !

There is one cute bouncer at the door. Big whoop.

  • Pros: oh please
  • Cons: Saint !
