Great beer list!.
Always a full house, even at off-times, this is a great local hang out for college kids and young professionals that live in the area. Their pizza is simply amazing, with a long list of interesting toppings, all fresh from the wood-fire ovens. Also check out their impressive list of beers and, should you be the sort that likes them, they do carry malt liquors. Burgers are also fantastic! There can be a wait for a table at peak hours, but it's never more than 15 minutes.
Wood-fired pizza and a bevy of beers are hallmarks of this no-hassle hangout.. The Scene Nestled in a heavily-residential area near Symphony Hall and Massachusetts Ave, this comfy restaurant and bar attracts a laid-back clientele of young professionals and students from nearby Northeastern and Berklee College. With a few TVs and an exceptional selection of beers on tap, the comfy bar is ideal for catching up with friends or watching a sporting event. Friendly, youthful waiters help diners choose among the unlimited pizza options.
The Food Woody's stakes its reputation on its pizzas, which emerge from the prominently displayed wood-burning ovens with a thin crust and golden shine. While the bland tomato sauce is nothing special, unusual toppings such as Gouda cheese, Portuguese linguiça sausage, and spicy jerk chicken provide some unique options. Also available are basic salads and appetizers, all of which come in portions large enough to share. Those with a sweet tooth should leave room for slices of delectable homemade cheesecake or pie.
Good food, prices.
This is a great little neighborhood hangout - good burgers, steak tips, big salads and excellent pizza. If you live in the Fenway/Symphony area, this is the local place where everyone goes to relax and have a bite to eat or a cold beer to drink. Nice atmosphere in general, with both local students and neighborhood residents. If you're looking for a great burger, sports TV and a beer, just go to Woody's. You'll keep going back.
Amazing food and service. I have been going to Woody's and I don't know what the negative poster was talking about, regarding the manager. The owner/manager has been one of the best I have ever met. The food is terrific - you will LOVE the wood fired pizza's. Beers are good and cheap.
i used to live in the neighborhood and visited woody's weekly (sometimes more). it's a great place to just hang - watch a game or sit and chat with friends. EXCELLENT food that is consistenly yummy -- and it's cheap and quick! (the wood oven cranks out the BEST pizza!!)
Pizza, Beer & The Red Sox.
A cozy pizzeria, Woody's has ample seating at its bar and planty of tables to rest your weary bones on. Wonderful aromas from their brick oven sweeten the air as the Red Sox play on any or all of the three well-placed TV's. The beer is cold and the pizza hot -- what more could you ask for.
