Chauvinist manager. I gave it 2 stars just so this review wouldn't be removed! I would give it a big fat zero if I could. I have NEVER been treated like this in my entire life. I was very hungry, and waiting for my date to arrive. I asked to be seated at a table for two, and mentioned that it is supposed to be an anniversary date (read quiet and intimate). The manager (oh, what a jerk) seated me at a table for four, next to a family of four screaming babies. When I said I wold rather wait for a more intimate table he asked me "Oh, what did lady have in mind exactly?" in a condescending voice. He proceeded to put me on the waiting list and while there at the bar waiting, I saw that they have tables available. I asked to be seated there, and he told me that those are reserved for "parties, and not people who come alone" !!!!!!!!!! As my date is a doctor, and he was on call, he got stuck at a hospital and an hour late, the jerk wouldn't seat me for another hour, even though there were tables available. I would have left, but finale is where we met, and it would ruin the whole idea of an anniversary date. At the end, I said to him, OK, so, I can't eat alone? He replied with an ugly smirk and seated me (again) in the middle of the room with bright lights in my face, blinding me. At this point, I didn't want to argue with the idiot and I just ate a bite until my date showed up.

I am appalled at the fact that a lady CAN NOT EAT ALONE at a place deemed upscale like this one. So, what it boils down to is that I would not be able to get a nice table in reasonable time if I didn't have a date. How chauvinistic and pigly disgusting.

I am NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN. EVER.

The best chocolate lava cake!. They have the best chocholate lava cake. It's awesome. If you want a place to hang out late at night just for drinks and dessert then you must come here.

Delicious desserts!. Though it has appetizers and entrees, this restaurant specializes in heavenly desserts. Chocolate lovers must try the ?Chocolate Infatuation.? Intended to be split for two, the dish includes truffles and a molten lava cake among the other chocolate tasting items. This restaurant is definitely a good pick for a special, romantic occasion.

Waste of Money!. If you want to feel like you've been ripped off I suggest going here. It's all just a bunch of well thought out hype to get you in the door.

Romantic setting and a clear focus on all things sweet make this the area's premier dessert destination.. The Scene
The Harvard Square Finale's gorgeous crimson-and-gold dining room features the same stylish setting of the original Theater District location, including an overhead demonstration mirror that affords a view of the pastry chefs that construct Finale's signature desserts. Young, friendly waiters are pleased to recommend selections from the epic drink list.

The Food
Dessert is the focus, but there's also a respectable light dinner menu that allows patrons to enjoy a well-rounded meal without getting too full before the sweet stuff. Smart options include the rosemary-rubbed chicken Caesar salad and a Mediterranean pizza. Most diners skip the savory items and dive straight into desserts, like a divine, baked-to-order molten-chocolate gateau or the caramel carnivale (caramel mousse layered between puff pastry and served with fresh fruit in raspberry puree). Advanced sweet tooths should opt for the Temptation for Two, an assortment plate of cakes, gelato and mousse.

BAD. We recently went to Finale and it was not good. Service was okay but not anything to write home about and something about watching staff bring pastries and fruit up from a garage just doesn't seem sanitary! EWW! I thought this was suppose to be a great romantic place to eat with my husband but it was not! I would not suggest to anyone!

AWFUL. I understand that gourmet desserts are smaller portioned and expensive, but the quality is supposed to be worth it. The molten chocolate was miniscule, 12 dollars, and not particularly good. I left feeling completely unsatisfied and totally ripped off. I will go ANYWHERE else, or skip dessert entirely, rather than returning. Save your money.

melting for motlen chocolate. My first trip to Boston my friend from Harvard took me to Finale. I was at first disappointed to see how small the veggie pizza I ordered was, but when I saw the desserts come out, I understood why. I ordered some fancy-looking chocolate cake, but had a taste of my friend's molten chocolate and decided to order my own. It is the most heavenly dessert I've ever had and I wish they had other chains across the country.

Not impressed with the desserts based on some of the reviews. A couple of friends came up to visit from NYC and I thought I would take them to Finale for some dessert after dining out Grill 23 (my favorite seafood and steak fix). We should have just had dessert at Grill 23. The staff really needs an attitude adjustment, I don't want to be mean but they work in a dessert shop that's all I can really say. As for the desserts, I don't know if the staff just put a bad taste in my mouth or the desserts was just not very impressive. I think this place is highly over rated as being #1 under city search....

They do it with style. I don't understand the comments from one of the previous posters who sat down in one of the smaller restaurants in the Boston area and lied about the number of people in his/her party. This is a great place to go, especially for a couple or small group of friends. I'm there at least once a month and am very excited to see them opening another restaurant soon in the Coolidge Corner location. The quality of the ingredients is superb and every manager I've met has gone out of their way to accommodate every request. If you're making one of the best restaurants in the Boston area uncomfortable for the other people, then you should be asked to leave -- I'm positive they tried on numerous times to accommodate you. Visit Finale for a top notch experience!
