I have to agree-- i am going out of my way to make a review as I NEVER in my life have done this. I have been a member of many gyms-- mom and pop gyms, fairly priced and extremely expensive. I called to inquire about this gym as I am moving to boston and the employee that I was speaking of put down the gym's i am currently a member of. I asked him if they had 3 day passes ( because i wanted to make sure i liked the gym before I joined ). He was extremely snooty and implied that " his gym is completely on the opposite side of the spectrum compared to la fitness". I asked him what he meant by that and he rudely replied " well you know-- they only charge $25- $35 a month.. were not like that--that is why we don't have 3 day passes"... In nyc where I am from NYSC is not looked at like a higher end gym AT ALL--and i can certainly say when I called him I did not think that BSC was HIGHER end either. In NYC i spend $40 a class for my spin class soul cycle 3 times a week. $50 a month for my La Fitness. I am committed to spending a great amount of money on a gym-- if it is worth it. I wouldn't spend a doller there-- yet i would rather spend more money commuting back and forth from BOSTON to NYC to my " low end LA FITNESS" then join that rude gym. THe truth of the matter I love my LA FITNESS gym and would not want to leave it if i had an option. Equinox which is much nicer then BSC doesn't even treat people like that.. MY thought- BSC is a wanna be equinox....reality check!! ur not! other wise you would be able to charge $130 a month...get off your high horse

Avoid at all cost.. I am going out of my way to express dissatisfaction with the gym which I do rarely, if ever. Going to the club is fine. They provide decent experience... until you start to deal with billing. Be VERY CAREFULL with their contracts. The billing stuff cares about nothing except squeezing the last $$$ out of you. Be prepared to be talked down to. And God forbid if you decide to cancel membership: they will charge you additional 30 more days even if you don't use the club. And you can't even freeze membership not to pay $150 for nothing. If you call them they will throw your contract back into your face. My suggestion: consider BCS only if you don't have other options. These guys really deserve to go out of business to leave some space for more people friendly gyms.

'community feel' gym with friendly, knowledgeable trainers. I work out at BSC every day, been a member for years, and have never seen Julio or any of the other trainers been anything other than complete professionals. The trainers are very supportive of their clients and have an impressive breadth of fitness knowledge. A bit overpriced, but very clean and the staff is all so nice!

every story has 2 sides-be honest. Please be honest in your posting Boston guy 77. Your opinion of BSC is respected but naming a trainer (me) with false accussations is wrong. Every story has 2 sides and unfortunately your depiction is far from the truth.

A BSC Fitness Manager, myself and another trainer plus a couple of other club members witness your temper when I requested to share the space with myself and another female member on your other side.

Your response was to flare your legs very violently and close to the members heads. When I asked for you to stop due to the potential of injury ( my request was in a calm voice) your response was to flare your legs more...next you stood up ..swore at myself and threatened me and when I declined your offer to participate in a immature game of verbal warfare you stormed out and tried to get me fired.

The reason I did not get fired was because you lied and there were witnesses. Again, we have cameras and the fitness manager was there.

Club members safety is paramount and your actions almost caused injury. It would have been irresponsible on my behalf to not address your actions.

It does not make a difference if your are a paying client or a club member...everyone has the right to workout in a safe, non-threatening environment.

By the way, I want to thank you for keeping your membership and for your recent participation in our personal training programs.

My record speaks for itself. Visit my websitet for more information on my personality, training and client testimonials.

Be Well and Stay Active!!

Crowded, Overpriced, Personal Trainers not too knowledgable. I'm sorry I joined this gym. I went to the Gov't Center location. It was always crowded after work and the locker room was kind of small. Treadmills were always being fixed and it would take weeks to repair them. I did sessions with a personal trainer and I think he really didn't know what he was talking about. He always chatted with other people during my sessions and he was pushy about signing up for packages of training. I now go to Healthworks and I LOVE it!! Great, knowledgeable trainers, tons of equipment, HUGE locker room, luxurious showers, TONS of classes, an area you can check email, go online, etc...nutritional counseling..and all of that for ONLY $11 dollars more a month than what BSC was charging me. I absolutely do NOT recommend BSC. Total rip off and not worth the $$$.

Unprofessional staff, bad facilities. I had a very unpleasant experience with a trainer named Julio at this gym. The guy made a huge scene because he felt I was using space reserved for his client, when in fact the area was open to all members. All these people care about is making money off of private training, otherwise you don't rate here. When I complained about it I was ignored. Not worth my dime to put up with this treatment, not to mention below-average facilities.

Editorial Review. Popular local health club provides its members with 20 locations; each offers personal training services and numerous group exercise classes.

Overpriced. I left this gym about a year ago after prices went up yet again. This place has great equipment, very clean facilities and plenty of eye candy, but is so crowded that its not worth the money. Check out Fitcorp at the Pru.
