Boston >Phu Cuong Market
Cheated, Unethical, and low life market.
The lady at the register ripped me off. I bought all my stuffs for 50 something dollars. I have 20 something dollars change and two $100 bills so obviously i have to pay them with a $100. I gave the lady the $100 bill, she looked at it with her wide eyes opened, i thought she was checking for the mark to see if it's a counterfeit money, then she did something behind the counter in a slow motion, I thought she was getting me my changes . I ran out of patience and looked away to check out the fruit isle behind me. I heard she said $54.28, I turned around and she waves the $20 bill on her hand at me. I were like OMG, noway this is happening at phu cuong supermaket, I told her I gave her the $100 bill and asked what did she do with it in the last 5 mins? She said she was waiting for me, she thought I were still getting her the rest of my money. I said NO, I've been waiting for you, if I gave you the $20 bill in the fist place, why didn't you say something then? i checked my wallet and I only have one $100 left and 20 something dollar change. So I definitely gave her the $100 bill. I fought with them for awhile, i told them to go check their security camera, they said they have none, they told me i can come to the register to check or see if it's accidentally on the floor because the cash register drawer have not been opened so nothing came in or out of the register. I were like...I gave you the $100 bill, you waved the $20 bill at me, you think I can find my $100 bill on the floor or anywhere else near the register??? I don't think so! I told her I'm Catholic and I swore to God and to her that I gave her the $100 bill and that I double checked the $100 bill before i gave it to her. I asked her to swear to me that the single bill that she looked at with her wide eyes opened were not my $100 bill, and obviously she couldn't and didn't dare to. She called her husband, who is one of the partial owners there and another cashier over to fight for her. They all told me basically I were wrong and their cashier were right. It were late at nite, almost at the closing hours and I were tired from a hot day at the beach so I ended up paying them the other $100 bill left in my wallet.
Now thinking back, I should have called the police to file a report and the police will definitely find my $100 bill in her body or somewhere near the cash register when they search for it. I have never been in this experiment in my life so I didn't know what to do, other than argue and being reasonable to her. If i've been in this situation or heard of this before, I would definitely call the cops and not waste my time talking to them because she was purposely cheating on me, she knew that I knew it. But oh well, i hope she can sleep tonite and swallow my $100 bill and raise her whole family for the rest of her life.
My advice: Please be very carefully when you obsolutely have to go to phu cuong supermarket, always go with another person in your family, like your husband or your mom to be your witness, check everything at the register, only use up to $20 bill maximum, if you get in the same boat like me, call the cops right away. That was my last time shopping at phu cuong market but of course i will take more precaucious any other vietnamese/chinese supermarkets. I still couldn't believe how LOW they are. Please tell your family and friends to be very careful when they go there. I told everyone in my family and obviously they don't ever go there again.
