The divine tchotchkes are great conversation starters, not that anyone here needs any help. Even on off nights, this spot is packed with friendly chatter, with half the patrons looking like they are one degree removed from a punk band, the other half looking like they've spent the afternoon gardening. How many bars are there where you could bring both your uncle and your most cool-savvy friend? This eclectic but unpretentious lounge manages to feel like the coolest place around without projecting a "members only" vibe. Like its schizophrenic bar menu that includes both spicy Thai curry and…
Unpretentious and Amazing!

As a vegetarian, I must admit that whenever anyone suggests a place to eat because of their "delicious hamburgers" I immediately prepare myself for a meal of iceburg lettuce salad or a side of fries.
But lo, what dilectable possibilities awaited me at River Gods! I sat in a high-backed very 1800's european royalty-themed chair and took in my ecclectic surroundings. Very fairytale meets Tim Burton-esque decor.
I picked from several vegetarian/vegan options (plenty of delicious meaty treats as well for those so inclined!) and chose the grilled aggplant over ratatouille and a yummy IPA. It was one of the best meals I have ever had. It surprised the heck out of me.
If I am ever anywhere near this neighborhood again I am forcefully dragging all of those in my party to River Gods to revel in the awesomeness it posseses.
(While there I noticed they also have really cool and different things going on each week at night- so check it out!)
- Pros: atmosphere, amazing food
- Cons: it's a small space- but very cozy!

This place is great! Everytime I go its looks so different inside, depending on the month. The food is so delicious, my favorite is the steak sandwich (with bourisn cheese) and their french fries. Its a great place to go w. a date for dinner or meet up with friends for a drink.
- Pros: French Fries, Steak Sandwich, Music+Decor
- Cons: Hard to sit., No fries late night.

I've never had a bad meal at River Gods. And, the different djs every night ensures that I'm being exposed to something different and new. Besides the dedication to music, the best is the decor and the people I always seem to fall into conversation with there. The service is excellent and the staff are friendly and inviting.
- Pros: Music, Staff, Fries
