Getting stale. This place used to be better. Went recently, they brought out cold pizza that seemed like it'd been sitting out, the server was fine but not really good. They've also had the same pizzas on the menu for years now, might be time to switch it up.

Interesting twist on pizze. The pizza is thin crust and quite nice, but if you are looking for deep dish or traditional NY style pizza, this is not your place. C1 offers a list of beer and some great salads, but beyond that the menu is very limited.

pizza. NASTY<NASTY<NASTY this is not a pizza, tasted like it was made on flat bread or a cracker. I would not recommends this place to my worst enemy.

Wait Staff. I used to be a fan of this Harvard Square hangout/pizza stop. Until this past Saturday night when my friend and I waited 15 minutes at our table and were passed nine times by two waitresses who made eye contact but made no attempt to take our drink or food orders. Needless to say we left hungry and upset only to be told by the defensive hostess who smugly watched this all unfold..."Well it's not my job, I DID seat you". So they will seat you if you are Black, but make no promises to serve you. Harvard Square has so much to offer and with gracious service, the best part is it's all just steps away, but not at Cambridge I.

Designer salads and pizzas in a converted Harvard Square firehouse.. The Scene
Young professionals fill this exceptionally attractive bar and restaurant to munch on gourmet basics. The prices keep most of the nearby students away, ensuring a calm atmosphere. Home to Cambridge's first firehouse, the space's minimalist concrete, brick and wood decor allows the food and drink to garner attention. Laid-back bartenders serve up pitchers of microbrews and glasses from the impressive, cosmopolitan wine list.

The Food
While the menu consists only of creative salads and pizzas, no one seems to complain. Top salads include the Bibb lettuce, grape tomato and Gorgonzola, and the bresaola, arugula and shaved Parmigiano varieties. The excellent charcoal-grilled, thin crust pizzas come in half and full sizes. Good options include the No. 4, with portobello, roasted onion and Asiago, and the No. 6, sporting roasted peppers, grilled chicken, mozzarella and Romano. Toscanini's award-winning tiramisu ice cream is the lone dessert offering.

Best very thin-crust pizza. My favorite toppings are the chicken sausage and arugula, which is basically a salad over pizza crust. Simple no-frills menu (but gourmet), great decor (I like the bench seats on raised concrete slabs), good service, although there is almost always a 15min+ wait in the evenings. Order a half-pizza each (unless you're really hungry), a beer and share.

Bad Pizza...Great Atmosphere. I love pizza, Cambridge 1 is not that great. The crust is like eating a pita with some melted cheese and toppings. They do have a cool atmosphere and a great beer selection. Great place to hang out, bad place to eat.

Never disappointed. My boyfriend and I have gone to C1 many times and have never been disappointed by the food, the service, or the atmosphere. The potato pizza is the best and their salads are simple and delicious. For those that comment about the bad service - just remember that if you're nice then the waiter/waitress/bartender tends to be nice right back at ya. Nobody wants to provide good service to a whiny customer with high expectations and no imagination.

User review by lisaflyg. I love C1, the pizza is great especially if you are watching your carbs. It is not Domino's for sure, more like a grilled pita. It is very healthy. They also have a great beer selection. Salads are good too. Parking sucks so you have to T it.

great "fancy" pizza. these arent traditional pizzas but they are absolutely tasty! i love the mushroom one and the rosemary potato one... the ambience is casual yet hip. if you like pizza but wanna try something different this is a great place.
