“never make it to entrees because the starters are so much fun.”

“Great food, great wine, great service”

“after one experience it became my favorite restaurant.”
“the food was good and the place was was really cute, however, there's no way i would ever return or advise anyone to go here solely b/c of how we were treated.”
“The food is great and the staff is always prompt and friendly.”
“don't usually expect much out of an affordable, middle range meal but this was horrible!”
“Also, the pace of the meal was slow and very painful to sit through, especially during the most rushed part of the work week.”
Pleasant Surprise. To my amazement a friend and I fell upon this cafe after countless times of walking right by. The food delightful and inexpensive. I was pleasantly surprise for Newbury with Stephanie's right around the corner. Outside dining is nice with the right weather and amusing for people and car watching. Inside looked romantic and smelled marvelous. Next time you're on Newbury this is a must try for lunch.
Something For Everyone. A charmimg restaurant that offers a very diverse menu and wine list. The choice of so many small plates allows the diner to sample many different and enticing foods. I also liked the very complete and comprehensive wine list that offered 5 different flights of three wines to sample. I thought the restaurant offered an excellant value. You can go back many times and still be trying new things.
Topanga and Cory met here..
Piattini is the perfect spot for the succinct week night date. The atmosphere is more Boy Meets World romance than Thomas Crown, but you should score points for being creative and cute.
Food: Inventive Italian tapas are pleasent to the taste buds and even more so on the wallet. Entree's were not quite up to the North End standards, but certainly far tastier than the remainder of the Back Bay Italian Restaurants. Try the Sugary Buttenut Squash Ravioli (The cider sage and brown sugar sauce is amazing) The spinach gnocchi was also sublime.
Drinks: It is a wine bar. This is not 1986, so get red.
Service: Laid back, but not to a fault.
Take someone you love!. The "little dishes" are outstanding. Each piattini is a refined but exciting combination of ingredients that enhance each other. This is classic Italian cuisine, no "tall food" and "fusion" fantasies. The exceptional wine list is well and moderately priced. The service is polished, European.
Great prices & food on Newbury Street. I stopped by Piattini for the first time while holiday shopping on Newbury Street. The creative menu, selections of small dishes, and interesting wine list drew me in to the rustic and homey dining room. The food was fantastic and the servers were friendly and knowledgable. Can't wait to go back!
Love love LOVE the Piattini!.
The lobster ravioli is to die for. As is the maple/squash ravioli, mushroom ravioli, calamari salad, risottos, and WINE list... I never make it to entrees because the starters are so much fun. Piattini means "small dish", a bit like tapas only MUCH tastier--high end Italian flavors. Easy to share or to get 2 or 3 per person.
Josephine, the owner, opened the restaurant in an attempt to recreate her Italian grandmother's kitchen (she often will stop to chat w/ patrons)--the service is warm, informative, and if you go often enough you will get treated like family.
The ambiance is great for couples or small groups, they do a nice daytime menu for lunch, but dinner is amazing...
