manners needed here

I don’t think the staff can get any nastier. I was yelled at for not understanding where the actual animals were and then got yelled at when told they were too busy to let me visit any cats. I was never told about a window for viewing. I understand they volunteer their time, but a little common courtesy is expected from everyone. I’ve never been spoken too like that and I was shocked and embarrassed. It’s not the animal’s fault, so please visit if you are seriously considering on adopting, and I mean seriously.
This place is not for the timid or shy personality.
- Pros: Many animals in need of homes
- Cons: rude volunteers
Unkind staff

I called for info on how to save money on spaying my dog and the woman I spoke to was rude. She made me feel as if I was trying to just get a deal. Times are hard and I took in an unwanted dog. So excuse me for trying to find ways to cut costs and save a dog. She sounded as if she didn't believe me when I said I didn't pay for the dog, she wanted the person's name from whom I got the dog from, which I would have happily given her. She changed her mind and said she couldn't do it cheaper then over the $450.00 my vet was asking and then gave me a phone number to Pet Partners, which was just a fax number.
I told her that the vet I used was asking for alot to do the spaying and that It was difficult for me to afford it. She said "that's the price of pet ownership" So I guess I was better off leaving the dog at a shelter? I donate to charity often and if she had been kinder and not so rude I would make contributions to them yearly as I do for all my charites. She had absolutely NO personality and possibly no heart. I feel for the animals there.
- Pros: didn't get a chance to find out
The best animal shelter i've ever visited!

I was so amazed when I went here for the first time. Nothing at all like most animal shelters. Most of the animal get to stay cage-free. People can even watch them play through the viewing wondows. It is so much fun. You can tell they truly love these animals! i've never seen more dedicated volunteers. And they also run a huge thrift shop with some of the lowest prices i've seen! How do they get it all done with so little help? As far as personality, i read the other woman's review. I would have to guess she was one of the people that was denied a pet. I visit often and have never seen them treat anyone rudely. Usually it's the customers that are very rude. I know I heard them talking to one lady who thinks her cat won't jump a fence, and the volunteer had so much patience with her, even though the lady was getting very, very loud and actually threatened the volunteer! Thank goodness I don't have to put up with people like that. Too bad these wonderful volunteers have to . All i can say is this place does everything they can to help these precious animals. Wish more people would give them a hand. They surely are making a huge difference. I heard they pulled 200 kitties out of just one guy's yard! Wow, all were saved! Great job AHP keep up the great work.
- Pros: It looks small from the outside, but they are sure full of great buys!
